PFT: Rams respond to Finnegan's comments

FWIW, Finnegen played 367 snaps last year and PFF had him at #109 of 110 CB's and NFL had the same. In 2012, he played 1031 snaps, ranked #86 by PFF and around the same by NFL. PFF just grades on individual play, if you win or lose in coverage or run support, and he was bad in both for the last 2 years. The Rams 2nd round pick played almost as well as a rookie, and much better last year.

I really hope he turns back time and has a great year but, show something on the field before opening your mouth. Take a lesson from Grimes, who lost a year to a bad injury, did not say a word but, spoke volumes on the field in having a Fantastic season. JMO

Kind of makes me wonder how stupid he'll feel if Taylor beats him out for the starting spot by the end of the year. Or maybe the beginning, who knows?

Yeah, and maybe Hickey as well. I like Taylor a lot, and thought he could have started by the bye last year, before knowing the extent of his injury problems. I believe he will start this year, and I'm hoping for opening day.

I'm amazed that "A source with knowledge of the team’s thinking" can be interpreted as "Rams respond to Finnegan." And people complain about Omar Kelly.

it had less to do with coaching, but they fired the coach...

They fired the coach and fired the player.
Obviously they thought the coach didn't get the job done because they fired him even though statistically their defense was better than ours in yardage allowed and 13th in pts.
They also obviously felt like Finnagan did not get the job done since they cut him.

I don't think Finnagan should have tried to shower the DC with blame as an excuse for his poor play since the previous year there was a different DC and Finnagan still played bad.
Sounded like a guy that was trying to make excuses for his bad play and not accepting fact he needed to play better.

The response too sounded uneeded but Finnagan is the one that started the issue by bringing it up.
Finnagan was a horrible signing for the rams , hopefully he wont be for us.

Pft loves the fins eh ?

Well sometimes it does seem an axe is being grinded but there is more about Finnagan and less about us.
Finnagan already is coming off bad to me. He could have showed some class and moved on, but like Mike Wallace he cannot accept any blame.
I compared the two but in reality Finnagan comes off much worse.

This is why no matter what as a person you have to like how Tannehill carries himself.
Fun Fact my son actually went to school with him. Wish I had convinced my son to play football but he had other interests he would have probably been a very good TE for him

Finnegan has something to prove. He was a quality CB until last season. I'd say he's mentally primed for a good season - his comeback year. We will see if he still has the speed to move with the receivers. You know that he still has the elite verbal skills to get under the skin of opponents.

It's all he said/she said bull****. However the part that worries me is the bit about him never having surgery. I would like to know if that is true or not.

I'm not convinced it was only about what happened on the field.
you don't think it had anything to do with the $3 million roster bonus they would have owed him 2 days later? how about the $23 million in cap relief?
also, I believe Jeff Fisher indicated at the time that they would have liked to bring him back if possible.

Finnegan gonna be a beast this year. Book it.

According to DVOA Rams D was top 10 the last two years one slot above the Jets both seasons, surprising they fired the coach, that's pretty good D for having such a **** offense. Not sure if it can happen as soon as next season logistically but I'm predicting the Rams will announce a move to LA soon and will have the number one pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
