Philbin a genius!??

Let's see what happens after the bye versus the Packers. Last year after the bye the team came out flat and tanked against the Bills' 3rd string QB. Let's see this team and coaching staff string 2 good games together in a row before we go calling Philbin a genius, LOL.

Packers and Bears have good offenses, but suspect defenses. Packers at home is winnable. Bears on the road is tough, but winnable. Must at least go 1-2.

I think Philbin may be one of the smartest coaches in the league. But that doesn't make one a great decision maker or a great leader. You can be very smart and still be very stupid at the same time.

I think the reason that Philbin floated the idea of starting Matt Moore is because he was considering starting Matt Moore.

I actually think he's too smart for his own good in some ways. Go/go-go was brilliant but if you can't convey why its brilliant to the players then it goes from something that should be a positive to potentially something that ends up undermining you.

I don't think Philbin is a genius in this situation, I just think the fans and the media are idiots for buying into all the tabloid hype. The media had fans believing the team was in disarray and there was all this internal negativity and doubt, but of course it was all just bull****.

You mean Kapernick. I am thanful he is not the Dolphins QB. He doesn't have it between the ears.

Been saying this bro...kaepernick is so overrated it's ridiculous. I think he sucks as a passer, he's only a threatbecause he can run.

Far from a genius.

But one thing is for sure this team needed a wake up call one way or another. There performance vs KC warranted the threatening of players ropes on this team.

I just wouldn't of done it publicly, but maybe it helped? Impossible to know for sure...

Apparently, there is a rulebook out there on how to handle struggling QBs, Philbin is clearly not following that rulebook. To me a sign of genius is the ability and determination to pave your own way, to go against the grain, to be an innovator. Proof of genius is when you go against the grain and it actually works.

Remember when Belichick changed the way teams are announced at SuperBowls? They used to announce individual starters but Belichick insisted his team be announced simply as "The New England Patriots." Genius (I'm pretty sure that was Belichick that started that trend anyway).

Joe Philbin is a smart man. The South Florida media? Not so much...

Its a win or lose kind of thing. Like when a coach goes for it on 4th and 2. If his team converts the first down he is a genius. If his team falls short he is an idiot. There is never any middle ground with fans.
