I like him too and I'm pulling for him to be here long term. Hope it all works out. It looks to me like he was reading too. That's one thing he needs to not do in the locker room is read his notes while giving his post game speech. Saw him fired up once...may have been the Atlanta win or the Cheatriots win, but he didn't have his cue card to check off of and spoke naturally. The team was fired up too, probably because of the game as well as Joe getting more emotional, but you reach your audience when they know you mean it. They know you mean it when you don't need to check over your notes.
He can be dry, reserved, all of that. But I think he just has to do what he told Tannehill to do last year and "just let it rip".
 
Saw this earlier and 100% approve. I then re-watched it just now to see if Philbin looked "stiff" and I didn't really see it. If he needs to make faces the Joker made when Jack Nicholson played him then that's on whoever thinks he needs to be more animated.

He was stiff, reserved, whatever word we want to use...not meant to insult. He's always very careful and that's not necessarily a bad thing. On the other hand, I don't remember Bellycheat even speaking when they issued their challenge. Just stood there looking literally constipated or something. Now that's a guy you wouldn't invite to a party. Plus he may even steal your wallet.
