I don't give a **** about the deep ball. It's a fun play to watch but if our wrs get a huge rac and touchdowns then the deep ball issue will largely be forgotten

Agree on running more crossing patterns but i still think if you get a one on one with a beatable CB you take a couple shots every game. Even at a 50% completion rate if could decide a few games for us this year.
Instead of a called play this should be an audible where the QB and Wallace recognize the coverage and take advantage of it. This may be especially potent if we ever get a running game going so you could do if off play action.
It's unusual to have a receiver that can consistently get behind the coverage. We have one so let's take advantage of it if the opportunity arrives.

Biggest problems with pass protection last season were RB blitz pickups and tackle play.
Moreno is good at picking up blitzes and Albert / James already appear to be about thirty seven billion times better in pass pro than the all-star combo of Snake/Clabo or Big Mac/Clabo.
I think that's a bit low.
It is still hard to believe that this team rolled out there with Clabo, McKinnie, Brenner, Pouncey, and Jerry as a starting line....

Agreed. All good points. In fact I'd bet that with DeSean moving on, Maclin's return & the addition of Sproles that offense will be even more dynanic.

The Niners in the Walsh/Montana yrs as well as the Martz led Rams ate teams alive on intermediate and/or crossing routes. I did not care for either team but it was fun to watch... sort of?

Well, Philbin is lieing if he isn't worried.Tannehide is TERRIBLE on deep throws.Hit the deep ball and defenses will finally respect our offense.
On deep throws to Wallace, why don't we put Moore in at QB specifically for those plays? That's the one thing he is excellent at - the bomb. Has great touch / feel - always did. I suppose it would be way too obvious but hey, in today's gadget-happy NFL who knows?
On a more serious note, can someone explain why on Hail Mary attempts, teams w weak-armed QBs rarely bring the backup w a strong arm off the bench to toss it? I recall guys like Fiedler and Pennington dropping back when they had no chance of reaching the EZ. Always been curious about that one.
