How in the world do you rationalize giving Green Bay extra time and using all three of our timeouts to their advantage?

I'm not a supporter but I guess the reasoning is that our pass rushers were gassed and some were asking to be subbed out.

That said, I don't understand how you call a timeout with 14 seconds left on the playclock on 4th and long after Rodgers has just fumbled.

supporters? none here. I'll support the dolphins, just makes it harder and harder to see talented players being wasted during their prime years.

He has always done that and I hate each and every time.

Have your defense ready and stay in the moment. Over coaching. Pure and simple.

That is the exact reason why he did. I know it allowed GB to reset, but we still nearly got to him. If Grimes does not slip, that is likely the game.

Also, I am not defending Philbin I am not a supported but I understand why he called it. The pass rushers were really gassed.

Remember those posts about Philbin having elite game management skills?

Those were neat.

Philbin saw a few gum wrappers on the field and wanted to make sure they were picked up?

No excuse. At all. The worst thing that can happen to an offense in a two-minute situation with no timeouts remaining (other than a turnover) is a sack. We had a huge play by the defense, and Philbin managed to turn into an advantage for Rodgers & the Packers.

And a special mention for Cortland Finnegan for not making the tackle on the fake spike play. If he tackles the receiver in bounds, the game is over.

Either way it didn't work out, you go with the flow of the game until you desperately need a timeout, like on the final play of the GB drive.

There is no defense for this, but I'd like to see the Philbin supporters try...

There were no positives for calling the timeout in that spot. Even if the secondary was out of place and they convert, at least it takes something like 30 seconds off the clock. And if for some reason that play resulted in a TD, it would have at least given the Dolphins some time to return the score.

Calling the timeout there allowed the Packers to save some critical time on the clock and take their time to bleed all the clock so the Dolphins couldn't have a chance to possess the ball again.

Oh really **** him. What a defeatist loser. They had more plays because you stopped the clock for them

It doesn't even bear mentioning any longer. Just add this to games that were lost in large part due to coaching like the Bills & Panthers last year, and even in some of our wins or less close losses there are baffling decisions of bad timeouts, choosing not to try to sore at the end of halfs, and the absolute worst of all, passing the ball when the game situation absolutely demands running it.

Philbin is clueless. Its situation football which is supposed to be practiced all week long. The Defense has the major advantage because they can rotate in and out and the offensive line, and Receivers for the most part stays in tact on offense. If anyone was gassed, it would of been more the Packers than the Dolphins. In a situation like that, coming off of a sack, the Packerss with NO time outs left, and were clearly confused about getting in a play call, with the play clock TICKING down. And with the Defense having all the momentum and would be riding the rush of the previous play...As a Head Coach you do NOT under any CIRCUMSTANCE call a time out and give the Offense time to regroup coming off of a sack.

Philbin makes my stomach turn on how clueless he really is. What does this guy do all week long in practice? Situations like this are supposed to be practiced all week. Yet every single time Philbin gets in a crunch time situation, he blows it with flying colors.

Imagine how much Philbin would crumble in a big time game. He is garbage and should be shown the door immediately after this game for showing what a horrible decision maker he is.
