Philbin to speak tomorrow at combine

He should speak and answer the questions…be a leader for once Joe. Please.

quite possibly. In all fairness did the scheduling of the PC come out prior to or post of Armondos letter?

More likely Ross wanted Philbin to stay quiet until after he made a decision on what moves he was going to make. Now that he decided to fire Turner and O'Neill, he probably is letting Philbin resume meeting with the media.

Sounds reasonable......

Quite possibly, however typically the HC makes he decision and informs the media of such low profile firings, not the owner... Which does put into question Philbins leadership, OR decision making skills (given it was not Philbins decision to fire Turner)

Are those who complained about him not talking going to complain because he didn't answer the questions the way they wanted? I am already anticipating Armando writing a rip piece shortly after the press conference.

I fully expect him to give us a half hour of evasive coach-speak just like every other coach in the league or every politician on the planet would do. At least by being there he will be saying to the world that he is not afraid of the media and that the Dolphins are accountable to their fans.

These were not typical low profile firings. Firing Sherman was a typical low profile firing which Philbin announced, today's firings wers based on a supposed "scandal".

Eh, I can argue both sides of the coin, however truth be told Turner should have been fired by Philbin immediately following the season, or immediately prior to hiring a new assistant (who Philbin more than likely knew would be be replacing the Turner) or immediately post of the hire.

It's most likely a lose lose for Philbin. Armando bashes him for not speaking to media & then when he does tomorrow I'm certain he will bash him again for what he says. Philbin like MANY other coaches aren't media darlings so the media is waiting for any opportunity to jump on anything negative to create a story & Armando dislike for Philbin is concerning if the Herald expects him to be unbiased.

As the Head Coach of the Miami Dolphins, it is my responsibility to create an atmosphere that allows each player the opportunity to reach his full potential. As Stephen Ross said, and I agree, the language and behavior outlined in Ted Wells’ report was disappointing and unacceptable. Since I first arrived in Miami, it has been my goal to have a team which honors our proud tradition and represents our fan base the right way both on and off the field. It is not possible for a team to accomplish its goals when the fundamental values of respect are violated. That ultimately rests on my shoulders and I will be accountable moving forward for making sure that we emphasize a team-first culture of respect towards one another."

Sounds to me that he will take some of the blame, and as Ross already stated, the people left are on notice of a no tolerance policy moving forward.
