and get into the locker room, regroup and make some adjustments
- our line was getting beat badly at that point
- Its not popular decision but it was the right one and they moved the ball at start the second half.

- All you arm chair QBs would be complaining either way if things went wrong- if Tannehill is sacked, throws a pick or is stripped of the ball, or its 3 quick incomplete passes and forced to punt, bills get the ball back an score you guys would be complaining about that coaching strategy
- Also I don't believe Lazor's read option on 4th and short was a bad call. QB had some open field, bills SS just made a great play- again if that worked people would be talkin about the great call on 4th down

Flood gates are open.

Its not the popular decision, but I feel he made the correct call. He didn't feel our offense could punch it in the way they were playing. And considering how our 4th quarter hurry up offense ended in a terrible throw and an interception, he was right.

And the read option on 4th and 1 was a terrible call imo. It was a high risk play when we didnt have a lot of time left. Lazor tried to get too fancy imo.

On a fourth and short I don't like starting a play 5 yards deep in the backfield, so it wouldn't have been my go to as well... RT could have made the edge if the SS bit on the play fake tho, but he stayed home and did his job

Game was in reach until that kickoff return. That broke our back

When we were backed up i can see Philbin's logic not wanting a turn over but after a few good runs we got to the 40 I believe. At that point i try a few 20 yards shots to try an get into field goal range. If it's an int or incomplete time runs out anyways so no harm in trying.

Eh, I don't think so.
-our line may have been getting beat up till then, but as I recall we did get a first down rushing. And usually we are successful running the two minute drill. ( yeah I know he threw a pick at the end of the game)
-They WERE getting the ball back to start the second half is all the more reason to go for it.
-I just think it really sends the wrong message to the whole team, to the offense, punt team, and defense. Never saw such a thing in my whole life of watching this game. With 1 minute left? Ok. But with 2:19, all the timeouts and the 2 minute warning...just blew my mind...what if there was 3 minutes? 4? I mean geez there was forever football time left.
-I doubt any of us "armchair qbs" would have blamed Philbin for trying to get a score had disaster happened. I for one had faith that our d would hold em to a FG had we had to punt. Still we get the ball back to start 2nd half still only down 2 scores.
- no, one block and that 4th down play gets a first...although I think the better play would be for RT to sneak it, but I wasn't upset with the call. At least it was creative.

If we are close to our own end zone, then yea ,but no reason not to take a shot there as close to mid-field as we was with all 3 TOs left. Was a wasted possession that ultimately bit us in the ass.

With 1 minute and 30 seconds to go, their DBs would have played it safe and played off our WRs. We would have been able to easily get 10-15 yards per throw and at least get in field goal range. Any other team tries to get points there. My opinion is this - if you don't trust your QB to do a 2 minute drill, then he shouldn't be your QB. Plain and simple. I understand our offense had done nothing up to that point, but there is no way the Bills are playing aggressive there. Bad call by Philbin. Really shows the team that there is no confidence in Tannehill.

Miami had a second down play with 19 seconds left on the 29 yard line and a third down play on the 35 with 13 seconds left. You throw an incomplete pass there and you're looking at punting, when you already gave up a blocked punt.

So last year when New England ran the ball and threw two short swing passes at the end of the half to let the clock run out was that because they had no faith in Brady?

wrong game that wasn't against the Dolphins. Against Miami trailing 17-3 with 30 seconds left the Patriots took a knee and let the clock run out.

Our fabulous coach Philbin just showed his team his lack of faith in the offense. I would rather have a head coach make an aggressive call and try to get some points before the 1st half is over. That way of thinking is part of the reason why this team is so damned mediocre. If we have a real coaching staff adjustments would be made on the fly so that we don't have to go to the locker room to make adjustments to move the ball. In the end, the only people who fail are those who don't try. Philbin chose not to fail and failed anyway.
