Philbin won't commit to starting Tannehill against oakland in press conference.

bed checks people. philbin performed bed checks. this guy has the pulse of the team. he's in complete control.

LMAO

So is this the end of RT?

3 years in and the book is now closed?

Here's the deal....

Some quarterbacks are merely facilitators of the offense. Accuracy, decision making, and knowing what to expect allows them to be facilitators of the offense. Other quarterbacks are playmakers. They do it with physical talent and instincts as a playmaker.

Ryan Tannehill is neither. That's a problem.

This is an attempt to put Tannehill on notice and see how he responds. This is it for him. This is it. If he can't handle the adversity then they know he's not the guy anyway. It's gut check time for #17. He'll either respond or he wont. I can already tell you which way that's going....

Sounds to me like we aren't capable of running his system.

Not sure that is what I get out of it. Sounds like he is being told what to do. I remember him talking about how our offense was going to be nothing like the way it was in the preseason. More up tempo to come was what I got out of that. I think we are seeing the ultra conservative Philbin plan at work. The lets not make mistakes, pin it all on our D, play not to lose... so we still lose gameplan.

Here ye, here ye...Edict #2,478,341 from King Philbin...

In addition to no throwing of gum wrappers on the field in the practice dome (yes, I always start my edict with a note about housekeeping :-) ), DC coach Sir Coyle and OC coach Sir Lazor will attend all of my press conferences, so that when they give their press conferences we do not contradict each other. This is to project a sense of unity to the peasants who otherwise may realize that we don't really have our sh*t together, no matter what we say. :-) Failure to comply may result in an elevator ride with Ray Rice, a whooppin southern style by Adrian Peterson, or if we must, a night holding hands and singing kumbaya with the known snake and locker room ***** Jonathan Martin (flight to SF not included). ;-)

Philbin is tied to RT at the hip. When a head coach comes in with a high draft pick QB and the QB fizzles, it's usually curtains for the HC too. If they switch to Moore, they don't go back to RT barring injury, so that move would be Philbin's ticket out unless the Fins somehow have a great season with the move (yeah, right). Just a middling 8-8 season from Moore leaves you where? Looking for a new QB in the draft, new head coach too. Not a whole lot of upside to all this. We know what Moore is. The league knows what he is or he wouldn't have been a backup for 3 years.

Yeah, here comes Matt Moore and his 1 game played last season with 2 completions and 2 INTs. Just what this team needs more of: mediocrity.

Just as Miami used Brady Quinn to motivate Moore, it appears Philbin is using tactics to motivate Tannehill. Bench him after Week 3? Please.
@JeffDarlington

Then this from Jeff.

Lazor on if he has any doubt Tannehill will start Sunday: Do you have any doubt I'll be the coordinator on Sunday?

"We all rent these seats. It is a production based business," Bill Lazor said when asked of Ryan Tannehill will start Sunday vs Oakland.

Bill Lazor asked if Tannehill is regressing says team doesn't grade on stats. But..."if that's what the numbers say, then that's accurate."

Bill Lazor said he feels his receivers got open enough for Ryan Tannehill to make plays vs the Chiefs press coverage.

Lazor on if Tannehill is untouchable as starter: No one has ever told me anyone is untouchable.

I would bench the whole damn team and hire scrubs off the street. The games would be a lot closer and a ton more fun to watch.

"I don't think we're where we want to be," Dolphins OC Bill Lazor said regarding the tempo issues.

There is no think about it.

Lazor: "Our offense is what Ryan can run. What you are seeing is the things he is very capable of doing."

Asked if Tannehill might not be ideally suited for his system,Lazor said he cringes when someone says it's his system and that's not accurate

So, reading between the lines, sounds like Tannehill just doesn't have it upstairs to run an up-tempo offense...

could be a huge up grade from Phily, whats to lose, you get to see him in action and he is still interm......The teams not going anywhere but for us fans maybe a few good wins will deaden the pain a little and who knows maybe hes competent....point is nothing to lose.

Plenty to lose. The worst thing that could happen (and the most likely) is that Lazor wins just enough games, which always happens with interim coaches, to convince Ross that he can coach (because Ross is clearly an excellent judge of that). He then brings him in for a couple of years in which the wise doubters of that hire will be told that we aren't giving Lazor enough time, it's Hickey's fault, yada, yada. No thanks.

ROll with RT rest of the year. Find out what we got. It's not like we are winning the super bowl this year. I say if we lose this week, fire Philbin.
