Philbin won't commit to starting Tannehill against oakland in press conference.

So, reading between the lines, sounds like Tannehill just doesn't have it upstairs to run an up-tempo offense...

Well it sure doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement from your OC that's for sure.

It was bound to happen. The wheels are turning. I personally didn't think the organization would be so open about Tannehill, but I'm very glad they are and they are considering that **** has to change, and change quickly. It's still early enough in the season to where a spark can ignite the squad and we can get back to competing. Until then, it will just be the same **** we have been dealing with and it will progressively get worse.

I said yesterday that I don't think we will be a real threat with Moore, but you know what, he has shut me up time and time again. So this time I will keep my mouth shut and let Moore be Moore if he comes in.

does anyone know what they just said about it on nfl live? if there was any additional info?

Here ye, here ye...Edict #2,478,341 from King Philbin...

In addition to no throwing of gum wrappers on the field in the practice dome (yes, I always start my edict with a note about housekeeping :-) ), DC coach Sir Coyle and OC coach Sir Lazor will attend all of my press conferences, so that when they give their press conferences we do not contract each other. This is to project a sense of unity to the peasants who otherwise may realize that we don't really have our sh*t together, no matter what we say. :-) Failure to comply may result in an elevator ride with Ray Rice, a whooppin southern style by Adrian Peterson, or if we must, a night holding hands and singing kumbaya with the known snake and locker room ***** Jonathan Martin (flight to SF not included). ;-)

Lmfao!!!

Here's the deal....

Some quarterbacks are merely facilitators of the offense. Accuracy, decision making, and knowing what to expect allows them to be facilitators of the offense. Other quarterbacks are playmakers. They do it with physical talent and instincts as a playmaker.

Ryan Tannehill is neither. That's a problem.

This is an attempt to put Tannehill on notice and see how he responds. This is it for him. This is it. If he can't handle the adversity then they know he's not the guy anyway. It's gut check time for #17. He'll either respond or he wont. I can already tell you which way that's going....

Yea its a big waste of time.

If Philbin can not see by now that he can not win with Tannehill then he needs to find a different line of work.

Ryan will start. This game is his last chance to prove something. If he stinks it up, going into the bye week, you should see Moore starting with the 1s in practice. Book it

I wish we were playing a good team this week...chances are RT could come out of this game looking good...then we are ****ed...

Who care, nobody really thinks that Moore will take us any closer to the playoffs. Want to make a real change fire Philbin

If only Rex Ryan had done the same to Snatchez.

I said it last year and a lot of you guys tried to run me out of town.

Tannehills last year would be in 2014....NAILED IT.

We are finally at a point where I would say over half of this board finally acknowledges Tannehill is not the one.

I just wish Dolphins management saw that before going into this year with him again. No we have to start over a year later then we should have.

Perhaps there is a law requiring a 5.5 YPA to own a passport.

LOL. Love it. And I think you've pinpointed the tipping point. Coaches can't afford to be happy adjusters. There is a a difference between a normal statistical deviation and borderline incompetence. Tannehill so far this season is performing below Ryan Leaf level. Leaf was always a 5.5 type guy in the NFL, albeit with very high interception numbers that drove his adjusted number below 4. Tannehill still manages to somehow avoid interceptions, primarily because he's not accurate enough. The defenders expect it to be in one spot but Tannehill misses by a foot or two, hence all the deflections and frustrated defenders. That happened 2 or 3 times yesterday alone.

Philbin in his opening presser mentioned passer rating differential. Lazor has correctly spotlighted yards per attempt. After two games I'm sure they were well aware of the numbers but didn't want to panic. When the third game is even more extreme in the same direction, now you can't ignore it. It's either condemn the design and the coaching and 10 other players, or look at the quarterback as the culprit.

Frankly I wish this were happening late in the season. As I posted months ago, we need Tannehill to tilt severely in either direction. Worst case is another moderate season and an ongoing tease, with potential for a disastrous contract extension that regulates the franchise just like our home stadium. I agree with TedSlimm's version that Tannehill simply doesn't have it. I posted that I wanted to draft Luke Keuchly in 2012. I'd like to pretend I would have taken Russell Wilson later but that's self patting and hardly a certainty.

If Philbin and Lazor are having doubts I wouldn't be surprised if Dennis Hickey has expressed doubt about Tannehill, and refusal to hitch to him regardless of performance.

I'd sign up for 5.0 yards per attempt right now as Tannehill's season ending number. We'd move in a different direction, which is the correct path. Otherwise we're stuck with lots of talented -- if not great -- players but nowhere to go with them.
