I watched a lot of college football this year and nobody made me say “how did he do that†more than Phillip Rivers. He reminds me of Brett Favre with Marino’s arm. I saw Manning play in 3 games and not once did I see a play that made me say “how did he do thatâ€Â. Not to say I don’t think Manning is going to be a great NFL QB but I think Rivers will be the late 1st round QB pick that becomes a superstar in the NFL. I would love to see Miami get him with their 1st round pick.

Philip Rivers

He will be a bill. Donahoe already said the bills will draft our future qb. :D

How stupid were the Cards. They would've gotten the 1st pick of the draft but they beat the Vikes and are now looking at the 3rd pick. They lose when they should win and win when they should lose.

What about Roesthlisberger you thinks he might be available?

Any one have the official draft order?
I would like to see who's most likely to take a qb in the 1st round.

I love this kid and think he may have more upside than anyone in this years draft. Since we dont need a rookie to step right in he may be a great fin and fall to us.

No way he becomes a bill. The bill will draft a qb in the 3-5th rounds perhaps the kid from bowling green. local radio seems to agree. They will, in all liklihood, draft a RB in the 1st:lol:

Which really means Miami will be drafting 19th, when the Vikings go over their clock! :)

The only teams that I see here that really need a QB are Oakland, Pittsburgh and Buffalo (and maybe Tampa). All of the other teams have pretty young QBs.

Miami could easily draft a good QB.

Thanks guys,

I think we better think about trading up if we want a shot @ Rivers.

From what I've heard, Rivers isn't getting any respect. He wasn't even considered for the Heisman and he put up more impressive numbers than Manning and White. Apparently scouts don't like his mechanics. I think a lot of people might be surprised with how late he goes in the draft.
I think he would fit Miami better than Manning. He is more mobile and is very accurate. I hope we get a shot at him.

I have heard/read the same things. Most mock drafts (take them for what you will) do not have rivers even going in the first round. Mainly because most 'experts' feel they would have to change Rivers' mechanics when he becomes a pro. That being said I would love to have Rivers in a Miami uniform.

I think that mechanics are over-rated. If he can throw the ball far and accurate... let him do it. Everyone is diffent!

Not to mention that people said the same about Dan's mechanics. I think Rivers and Dan have very similar releases. Not to mention I hear college analysts comparing him to Marino a lot.

I 'll take another "Dan the Man" ~ OK, that's a pretty long shot, but you never know. Dan was a long shot, too!

I do not watch college @ all, but if he is being compared to Marino then he must have a cannon.

From what I heard is Eli Manning is a top draft choice, is this another Griese in the making or does this kid have substance like Payton?
