GMs get paid to hit on the higher picks. Hitting on acorns without hitting on high picks is like pouring gravy on the plate when you don't have any potatoes there.

Now we understand why Jeff Ireland was a bust and had to be fired.

Exactly. I don't like the way the rated missed player after 4th round. The expectations are total different for lower round picks. The top few rounds are what count most.

Odrick is much much better than a 0.0 player that they evaluate. He's a good contributor who has consistently improved. I don't think they are good evaluators if they can't see any worth in Odrick. It's a B/S report

Don't think you are understanding what they are saying. The are taking into account where they were drafted. Odrick is a 1st rounder that isn't even a starter 3 years into his NFL career. I personally think they were being a little too kind in his reguards.

they are not calling odrick a bad pick. Quite the opposite, they said he gave us a long look last year as a player who deserved to be a first rounder, and another year like that will not be a question of positive grades, just what they will be.

I think that is very fair but the current grade includes the first 3 years, as well as last year. Odrick needs no defense on what they have said, as they are saying that he is a legit 1st round pick.
