Phins Options at #1?

I dont think there is any question we will get a great player in the first round. really any guy in the first round will be a starter i believe. I just hope we dont go after a position we dont need. To me right now we dont need a TE, S, CB, DE, DT, QB. (Other than depth)

I tend to shy away from LB because even if they weren't great last year we still have guys who can play. On OL its a different story, we dont have guys who can step in and be starters to fill out the OL. I still think we need a G and T and the FA market is less than spectacular.

Yup :-)

Zack Martin at #19.....if he isn't there take the BPA, or trade down for an extra pick. I think Morgan Moses might be available in round two to help the O-line. I would like to draft Tre Mason in round two, if he is still on the board.

I agree on all except for safety. Delmas is on a one year and injury prone. Other then linebacker I think safety is biggest question mark. While lb can be argued I think the solution is already answered with what we have. Misi to MLB kick ellerbe to outside and mix in dion Jordan with wheeler or Jenkins on the outside. Delmas is more of a strong safety as well so unless we resign Clemons I think free safety is a very big question mark. I'd love Pryor but if Martin is there then you go with him but if he's not, Pryor or ha ha would make a young deadly safety combo for years with jones. We take one of them and our 2 young corners end up working out with some vets like grimes and finnegan and our secondary is set for the next 5 years. People are argueing for Ebron but he's just a pass catcher. We need a play maker but also a guy that can block and help out what seems like what's going to be a rookie RT. If we take Ebron then we go into the season with sims, clay and Ebron and don't have any tight ends that excel at blocking which is still half the role of a tight end. Not familiar with the tight ends but if we get one we need a Jason witten type. Great blocker and great pass catcher. Forget these dreams of having a graham or Davis that can take it to the house any time but can't really block. Give me a great blocker and sure handed pass catcher over these one trick ponies anyday.

Don't know much about Lee. Cold you fill me in?

I watch a lot of USC games as a Pac-12 grad (ASU). Lee was one of the best WR's a couple years ago before he got hurt. Looks like he is close to being 100%, but I think a WR would be a luxury pick....I think if we draft a WR, it could be a sleeper pick like Jeff Janis of Saginaw Valley State, after round four. Janis is like a faster Brian Hartline.

I agree about Delmas to some extent. He was just signed so that why i said we dont need a safety as a first rounder. I would however with a later round pick get a safety and if we get some of these other positions solidified this year that could open us up for a top safety in the first round next year.

And i completely agree about TE. Everybody says we should draft a playmaking TE when we already have one. Everybody praises Julius Thomas last year because of his production forgetting that the guy couldnt block to save his life.

Miami will be drafting offensive line in the 1st round, no question about that at #19. It's just football 101, if your OL sucks your team can not do anything on offensive. I think coach Philbin clearly understands that, of course the BALL watchers on this site....you know the Dave 'Capt Ball Watcher' Hyde people simply do not understand that, thus they do not like drafting OL in the first round. The ball watchers in general will say that you should draft OL in the 3rd or 4th rounds because only an average OL is needed.....of course I think that logic is crazy nuts period. I want the Phinz to draft a stud RT in the 1st this year to fix the damn OL this year period.

"Philbin said. “One of the major problems, we feel like, and the reason we haven’t scored the points you need to score to consistently win in the National Football League is we haven’t protected the quarterback well enough. That’s the starting point.”

That's exactly it... And you can't NOT do anything in an offseason to fix the offensive line that broke the record for most sacks in the NFL. Zach Martin is almost a lock, imo.

Tight end would be a luxury pick at this point. We could use next years entire draft to pick best player available, 7 straight picks of play makers idc, but this year we have MAJOR needs on the O line. Let's get our corn fed now and get the playmakers next year.

I'm taking WR Odell Beckham Jr or Marqise Lee.

I'm expecting Zach Martin.

ZMartin in1st,C.Borland2nd and Charles Sims in3rd and James Hurst in 4th.That would secure your o-line and mlb plus give you playmaking rb allowing us to go bpa in net years draft

EBron or Shazier would make me happy. Feel like those are both going to be elite playmakers at their respective positions.

I'd love to see us pick one of those game-changing TEs, but I think our roster makes it impossible to take anything but OL.

we aren't going after Ebron and he wont even make it to us anyways. We will go OL or ILB, but anyways I'd take Mosley!
