Well now we have eight number 2 or slot recivers on the roster.
The point I was trying to make is that the reason there are no "splash" signings or big names is because the philosophy has changed. You are concerned because of the type of guys Philbin wants to bring in, my argument is that the guys they are bringing in(for the most part) are not intended to be starters or Pro Bowl players. They are meant to beef up the depth and fill some back end holes. It has nothing really to do with Philbin wanting bad players or low key free agents, it is about filling in some holes while building the main part of the roster through the draft.
That was the point of my post, never really meant this to turn into a serious of explanation posts.
Helps to fill needs, free's up the draft... somewhat.
Agreed bro and the off the field incident was icing on the cake.It pretty easy to let a guy go when he had 63 receptions for 746 yards and 3 TDs in 4 season with the Chargers. If he was truly talented they would have overlooked the incident like every other franchise but when your production is low and you're often injured they use it as an excuse to cut their losses.
No it doesn't bro. They just have to bring it.this means wallace, pruitt,or moore is gone.

Bro it is time to shine or say paper or plastic with the new coach. They better rise up and impress Joe or they will be replaced eventually.none of those guys has shown anything and yet this guy has had chances and is not good at all
Bro I am really surprised of this signing after AJ let him go here in San Diego. Or is this Jeff reaching for players?Naanee sounds like a first-class douchebag.

How has it changed? Here's an article from 2009 with Sparano and Parcells talking about their focus on "building through the draft" http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...se-franchise-tag-will-build-through-the-draft . That little mantra is spouted off by every team in the league. Philbin and his complete lack of personnel experience are not bringing along some radical new thought process. It's all a matter of execution. Not to mention it's still the same GM. Ireland has so far managed to get 1, maybe 2, starters out of the draft. So in 22 years we might be somewhere. To close our eyes to a lackluster offseason when our team is not very good in the hopes that the draft will solve everything is very unrealistic. The point I was trying to make is that the reason there are no "splash" signings or big names is because the philosophy has changed. Your point was simple to understand idk why that dude was having such a hard time, I tried to explain it but it was just goin over his head like a chad henne pass on a fade route.
My point was that if Philbin is bringing these players in and is happy, I am concerned. That's why you asked why. Hicks, Garrard and now Naanne are nothing to write home about and its certainly questionable that they will be adding depth or filling any holes come regular season.
Nothing about draft, nothing about Philbins eating habits or his love life.

The point was never there, gave you the quote, you gave a story based on nothing. Including what you thought I was thinking. lol
It was like Ginn dropping a ball on 3rd down, killing the drive.
This was a one year deal, if he gets cut no big deal...idk why ur making such a big stink over something so miniscule. Do people at finheaven have to go off the deep end over every single signing. You guys are acting like we signed nannee to a 5 year 40and million dollar deal.
Its not an impressive signing, and again stop making stories up in your head. Never did I make a big stink over it, just said that if Philbin is picking these guys, I am concerned.
