Players for #104

Munoz?

In terms of everyone wanting help with the OL, are we specifically looking for a tackle, guard, or center. My choice very soon would be Michael Munoz. He has been injured at TN off/on, but he has very high ability.

Of the people mentioned, I'd say Fields. We need a DT/NT type, and he's pretty good.

It's too early for Fields right now. McPherson or Hawthorne IMO...

I cant see Nick leaving the draft without acquiring some extra picks. And after seeing what he can do, I wouldnt mind it one bit!

I like Fields, but with the value on the board, I think it is too early for him.

Straight up, I'd have a hard time passing on Fason if he's there. Easily the highest rated player left in the draft. I love this approach of drafting the best player as opposed to drafting for need.

i actually just started a thread about Fason. Makes a lot of sense, but will get a lot of mixed reviews from fans, not including myself, who will say that we should've gone Braylon at #2.

We took the right guy. WRs dont make impacts in their first year. Plus Edwards had a terrible short shuttle (several DEs had MUCH better times). This means he lacks explosion. He is more of a strider. He could only play on the outside, and we already have 2 guys that are best suited for the outside. Booker has been to the pro bowl, and Chambers is talented enough. We need a WR, but we need a slot receiver. Mark Clayton might be the best WR in the draft - he would have fit nicely!!! We made the right pick with Brown, if there weren't good trade down opportunities - which obviously there weren't.

I want Junior Rosegreen in the 4th

I like Rosegreen too, but not with the 3rd pick of the 4th round. I think he'll be available in the fifth.

We already have at least 6 running backs....thats enough...how about fixing the real problems...LT and WR.

I like it. Either him or Wilkerson. McPherson wouldn't kill me either.

Edwards had the most TD's of any receivers in this draft...short shuttle my booya...Booker is playing like he should go to the toilet bowl...our receivers are the worst group I can think of on any team in the NFL. Even Detroit has 2 1/2 better than us. LOL.

Agreed, but I think we HAVE to get a C.

This is a list and what their overall ranking was according to PFW:

#47 - Ciatrick Fason, RB, Florida -- Will Miami decide to stockpile their talent at running back? Fason represents TREMENDOUS VALUE at this pick.

#75 - Fred Gibson, WR, Georgia -- Another guy who is good value, and another player that Nick Saban has coached against and is familiar with.

#77 - Sean Considine, FS, Iowa -- A teammate of second round pick Matt Roth, and he's a similar high motor player. Very smart safety.

#93 - Ronald Fields, DT, Mississippi State -- May not be the value they want with several players rated higher than him on the board.

These are players that Nick is familiar with, which seems to be the trend he is showing with his draft picks. There are other players available that have slipped for whatever reason.

I'd be happy with Fason, Gibson, or Considine at our current spot in the 4th. I'd add Jerome Mathis, Ernest Shazor, and Ben Wilkerson to the list as well.

let me ask this question , why do we only one good rb when pittsburg, denver and other teams have a t least two rbs ? i dont see that minor will make very many plays and it wouldn't kill us to draft Fason so we can have a little insurance.

[Official Site] (Nick Saban on if this selection puts an end to Ricky Williams coming back) -- “No. Why would it? ricky will be back in a dolphins uniform this year just wait and see:wink:

Darren Sproles would be a great pick at #104. It's probably a little early but he'll go before our next pick. He's small but he's real qquick & shifty & his game production over 3 years has been huge. He would be an awesome returner & 3rd down runner/receiver ala Dave Meggett w/Parcells Giants.

Running & Receiving Stats (Year, Touches, Yds, Avg, TDs)

2004 244 1318 5.4 11 | 32 223 7.0 0
2003 306 1986 6.5 16 | 25 287 11.5 2

The Dolphins have a very very big investment in Smokestack Ricky...did you really expect Saban to say...Ricky who?
