Although it is only the second pre season game, there are some players that I think need a big performance in order to stay on the team. One player is Donald Lee. He constantly drops passes and fumbles the ball, and with the emergence of Lorenzo Diamond, i just dont see Lee contributing to this team in the long run. THe next player is Travis Minor. With Ricky back, sammy morris, and eventually ronnie brown, there just isnt room for travis minor. Probably the only hope travis has is returning kicks, but Wes has that under control. The other player that could be on the way out is Derrius Thompson. He is once again dropping passes, and with Boston playing well along with farmer and welker, there is no need to keep him.

thompson really needs to start playing better if he wants to remain a phin. he drops passes at the wrong time, like on 3rd downs. And w/ gilmore catching alot thrown his way i would take gilmore over thompson at this point.

Although I would agree with you concerning Thompson as well as Donald Lee, anything else is a little premature. Also IMO Travis Minor is safer than any RB not named Williams or Brown. In the 4 years Minor has been a 3rd down back for the Dolphins he's averaged 4.1 ypc. Last year he avg'd 3.8 ypc. Take away last year's stats and he has more like 4.5 ypc. Just because Morris, Harris, and Gordon are bigger doesn't mean they're better.

*McKinney (even though he likely wont get cut, its imperative that he play well tonight otherwise Henderson and Stroud will absolutely OWN or qb's tonight)

Whitley (sucks)
Dropson (with our wr depth who needs you?)
Lee (despite lack of Te depth he better step it up bigtime.)

No doubt bout it Mckinnie better step up and the rest of the O-lineman even Mount Vernon.

Yeah I wasn't thinking about our O-line in my post above. Every last one of those linemen have to know they need a strong performance tonight and throughout the remainder of the pre-season. I'm really curious to see who we end up with as our starting 5 and who we keep as back-ups. I haven't heard anything about Alonzo Ephriam in awhile.

Donald Lee for sure....

Diamond has shown he has what it takes so far.

Lee always looks like he isn't putting any effort in, and if he is...he is just downright terrible.

And despite what Minor has done, Saban could care less. It's about what he can do now; and with the depth at RB that we have, I can't see Minor sticking around much longer.

Derrius Thompson needs to step it up, not to make the team...but to keep his spot at number 3 or 4.

I think, if he is playing at all, Feeley needs to show the fans that he can move the team...even if it is in the late 2nd quarter..he needs to produce...

Kay-Jay needs to make his presence felt on special teams. He got basically no chance in the first preseason game at RB, and I fear things won't be very different tonight. I guess I'll see tomorrow when the game is on NFL Network.

I really would like to see Travis Daniels play well tonight I was hoping we were going to draft Kyle Orton with that pick as it turns out the Bears took him right after we selected Daniels. It looks like they will both be good player.

AJ really needs a good showing:)

Good call.

The QB job could belong to Gus if he has a good game and AJ has a bad one.

More likely, the competition will go one more week before Miami uses game #4 as its rehearsal for the season. I think Nick will have the starter play in that game. He may be coy and not announce his starter until they step on the field in week 1, but I expect the QB who goes out there for game 4 to be the guy.
