Players that have to perform tonight inorder to make the team.

Gordon and Harris, to a lesser extent Minor, all have to perform because the 1 who doesn't will get cut. Right now, I'd cut Lamar Gordon, but that's why there are more preseason games to be played.

Lee, Whitley, and McKinney should all be cut. Thompson, if he doesn't play well is expendable. I wouldn't even bother with Eddie Moore, once healthy again.

Good call.

The QB job could belong to Gus if he has a good game and AJ has a bad one.

More likely, the competition will go one more week before Miami uses game #4 as its rehearsal for the season. I think Nick will have the starter play in that game. He may be coy and not announce his starter until they step on the field in week 1, but I expect the QB who goes out there for game 4 to be the guy.
Yea, i would love to see AJ come in and throw for 125 yds-2tds

I think Frerotte has to show he can move the team against a first string defense. This is his first test of the preseason.

And despite what Minor has done, Saban could care less. It's about what he can do now; and with the depth at RB that we have, I can't see Minor sticking around much longer.

If Minor performs in pre-season comparably with the other back-up running backs, he may make the team based on his special teams play.
He is very good on kick coverage, and can fill in for Welker if need be as a returner also.
Since it is adventageous for back-ups to have numerours roles, his special teams work stands him in good stead, compared to some other back-up RB's.

Someone help me out. Which of the other RB's have value as special team players, too?
(I think Sammy Morris is decent, but what about Lamar Gordon?)

Moore, McKinney, Lee, Thompson, Gordon, Bua. Also would like to see Farmer have a great game. I think he could a good big target for our quarterbacks.

If he can step it up during pre-season, and play on special teams, maybe we can keep him that way.

I have a better chance of making the team than Farmer.

Why is everyone so down on Travis Minor. He ran the ball harder than any of our backs the other night, is probably faster than all but Ronnie. I say let's get rid of Lamar Gordon, he doesn't even try to find a hole to go through, he's constantly dancing around like he's a scat back. And I'm sorry about saying this about Kay-Jay, but he is not going to make the team, he is way too slow.

But to get back on the Topic, I would say that Lamar Gordon had better step his game up tonight. We've had him for over a year now, and the longest run he has produced was 11yds. 11 FREAKIN YARDS PEOPLE, WHY ARE YA'LL STILL SO HIGH ON THIS GUY, he ain't doing nothing but wasting roster space!!!!!

Don't sell him out just yet, plus I don't see you on the field. I think if he plays well this pre-season he could make the cuts at wide receiver very interesting. It's too early to rule any one out yet!

here's my list of possible cuts after tonight:

Kay-Jay Harris
Josh Davis
Billy Parker
Deandre Eiland
William Delahoussaye
Jack Hunt
Reggie Rhodes
Donald Lee

I know alot of them are no-names and you probably wanted big names who might get cut but thats my list, I don't think anybody else is in danger of getting cut this soon

I understand what you're saying, that it is a slim possibility, but where is there room for him? Chambers, Booker, Boston, and Welker are locks. That leaves room for one, maybe two, and there is no way Farmer is kept before Gilmore based on how well he has performed in camp and on special teams, and even if he is, Thompson would make the team before him.
