Plummer vs Miami career numbers

bringing up plummers career stats vs us in my mind is kind of irrelevant because everytime he faces us, our team is not excatly the same as what shut him down before, and his team is not the same, so those past stats do not mean very much.

as for all the champ bailey bashing...we get it guys. im a big a dolphin fan as you guys, but will you cut the crap - we all know champ got burned a few times last year, wow so he had a down year and thats still better than the majority of the league. before last year, no one was calling him overrated...

its amazing - the guy had ONE bad year and everyone is talking crap...i see no reason why he wont improve tenfold on last season, especially now that he knows the defense better...i dont expect whoever he is covering to get THAT many yards, but at the same time i think we have a talented enough group of recievers that he wont be able to shut down the left side either.

How do you figure? The fact that the defense keeps changing and they keep shutting him down would only prove that point more deeper.

Our defense will eat up Plummer but our offense will stink it up higher therefore Bronco's win.

i don't think he dropped off that much last year. he got burned several times - even the best Dbs won't be 100% every single play. the term "shut down" corner is a fallacy - there is no such thing.

I think Champ is one of the best. But that doesn't mean CC/Booker/Boston won't catch any balls. That said, there is no rule that says Champ can't get beat. It's happened before, so to be a homer bronco fan and say it will never happen again would just be insane. Anything could happen.

Pays to read. He's a dolphins fan. Or at least word your comments better if your talking about the other fans on this board. Sounds like your making him out to be a broncos fan

my comment was directed at all the champ comments on here - i am aware he's a dolphin fan. my post's target audience shifted midway through. i guess i should have better directed it.

Have you been reading the threads? the talk about Champ shutting our team down has been ridiculous. Hence my comment towards homer bronco fans. If he's not a homer bronco fan, then i wasn't talking to him ;)

Exactly!!!

Just because a WR makes a catch doesn't make the CB bad. I mean honestly, if there are 30 passing plays and Chambers only gets 6 catches witha TD. Who really dominated who?

That just means that Bailey was better the 24 other plays.

I think many don't understand how hard it is to go to a new system

k.

It's been going both ways. There's fans here who automatically think Chambers will light it up. Both sides need to realize for every one common sense fan is 5 others that need a reality check.

Atleast for once, I am on the reality side:lol:

It's been so long

I just think its kind of funny that the trade didn't work out as planned for either team last year. Not saying Champ or Portis were horrible, by any means; or that they can't bounce back this year. Could the rule changes have affected Champ last year? I think Portis' season was a result of a one dimensional offense.

EDIT: POST 1000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it had a tad bit of substance...for once...

and having to adjust to new rules. I wouldn't be that upset if we didn't pass to Champ's side of the field all day. I would rather not find out if he has adjusted. Let's let SD find that out...

I really think its funny how many people think Champ had a "bad" year last year. He was solid in most games and goldy in a few others. There were some mistakes he made and unfortunately many were on nationally televized games but if you think we were disappointed with his performance last season, you are very very wrong. Don't forget we picked up Champ AND a second rounder for the trade which we used to pick up Tatum Bell, and I know you know who he is. I think the trade worked out very well for us.

I think Portis' season was a result of a one dimensional offense.
Yeah, which is a result of a horrible quarterback. if your passing game sucks, then they are just going to stack the line every play.

I'm really upset with how they (miss)use him in DC. They think they can turn him into John Roggins II and that's not who he is. They need to spread the defense out and get him invloved in the pass game more often. Run some stretch plays.

they will use him properly this season, with spread offense and zone blocking and that he did put up 15 pounds will help him to become one of the premier backs again this season
