What makes those different? Do you not know?
Losing is losing, whether you are 2-14, 6-10, or 7-9 you still have a LOSING team.

I voted no based on what the OP asked in his post...
Proof. Show me evidence.
I live in NYC and Mike Francesa on his WFAN radio program was lambasting Jets management for the handling of the situation. He reported that the owner told Ryan that he was safe and that the new GM would have to work with Ryan. Another important point Francesa made was that in his first two years Ryan had success with Mangini's players. That Mangini knew personnel and drafted players like Revis and since Rex was picking the players the team went downhill.
But he drained the cap to the point that we won't be able to do much of anything next year. The team that we field this year will be almost the same the year after that. It would be pointless to keep Ireland and Philbin around of they lose this year.

I'm curious to see if members think that if Jeff pulls out a nice draft, is he automatic for next year?

To be fair the OP wasn't exactly clear where the line was drawn. He did mention records in his first sentence but ended with this:
In fact the question of the poll is "Does JI deserve another year with good draft/ offseason?"
Yes, it is amazing how this fan base has gotten used to accepting LOSING. It's going to get worse over time. Currently we only have a few fans left who remember the championships. Soon we will only have a few fans left who remember the Marino years. Then we will have even fewer fans left who remember the boring winning seasons under Wannstedt. When that happens they will continue to defend Ireland when our four year record is 4-12, 4-12, 3-13, 4-12. Don't forget, Matt Millen had his defenders as well -- all the way up until the end.
I won't judge him on the team's record alone. If the draft choices performed well and the team still finishes 8-8 or worse, that means the other players he brought in under performed and the franchised is still stuck in mediocrity which is not acceptable.I couldn't make the poll selection too long. The original intent of the question is this, if we mostly all agree that Jeff nails the offseason and draft, and we still do not get past 8-8, does this year's record dictate he gets fired?
It's a one man firing. And the conflict is the man himself. If he does great at HIS job, should HE get fired for poor performance? If we all agree he picks the right groceries, but they arent cooked right, should Jeff hit the road? Keep in mind, Ireland does not coach or train these guys. If his choices in the draft perform well personally, but the team as a whole is not getting past 8-8, do we still judge him on the record alone?
