We havent had a qb poll in about a month. a lot has happened in that time. I figured i would throw another one out there just get some perspective on the fans thoughts as things heat up this week.

Peyton Manning......With the caveat that we draft Tannehill as well at number 8. Quarterback to contend with now....quarterback of the future. What a great mentor for Tannehill.

i like that idea but, im thinking it might be better to sign peyton trade down with our #8 and fill a need and use next years #1 to get a qb, if one is available at our pick.
or possibly trade down our #8 and we get lucky and tannehill falls to us later in the round.

Peyton Manning is the must have QB this off season. I would love to draft Brock in the third round.

Matt Flynn.

He's younger, healthier, and has a stronger arm than Peyton Manning at this point. He is also tailor made for this system. He is also a potential long term option and not a stop gap, which is what Peyton will be.

a healthy peyton manning means miamis in every game in 2012...god i want to know what that feels like...that said if you bring in manning i doubt you're drafting his eventual replacement with a top pick this year...you bring in manning i think its 2013 you go get your qb of the future...and the class looks pretty damn solid talent wise...

manning comes here and matt moores the backup in 2012 i'm using that top pick to fill another need with a top 10 bpa talent...

b/t lmao at the votes for we already have matt moore so we're good...lmao

To me the Peyton Manning question is of secondary importance.

The FIRST thing Miami needs to make sure they do is address the long term future of the position. That's not Peyton Manning. Manning is a one or two year stopgap, if he's even able to play that much.

What the Dolphins have failed to do for 15 years is address the long term future of the position. You don't finally do that by signing a 36 year old Peyton Manning with neck bones that are flaking like a french pastry. That's just another Chad Pennington type signing. You need to make an INVESTMENT in someone that will be the long term future of the franchise. The only effect Peyton's signing would have on that would be the elimination of Matt Flynn as that long term answer. That's fine. But you still have to get your long term future at the position.

AND DON'T SKIMP!

I see this all the time. Oh well we've got Peyton so maybe let's wait until the 3rd or 4th round and grab someone like Kirk Cousins or B.J. Coleman. Peyton Manning's presence doesn't suddenly make Tim Hasselbeck into Matt Hasselbeck. You're either getting a quarterback worth a damn or you're not and history shows that when you try and go the cheap option, much more often you're NOT. The only reason waiting like that would be justified would be if you were genuinely convinced one of those guys (Cousins, Lindley or Coleman) is better than any guy you could get even at #8 overall, highly undervalued, etc.

The reality is Peyton Manning should not appear on this poll. This poll should be limited to Matt Flynn, Ryan Tannehill, Robert Griffin, Brandon Weeden or Other. Peyton Manning should appear on a separate poll because it's a separate question.

If it's a proven healthy Payton that is at least 80% as effective as he used to be, then he trumps all the other options, if there is even a slight chance of Payton never being the QB he used to be, then It has to be Flynn (love the idea of RG3, hate the idea of giving up anything), my 3rd option is trade down, and pick up the best QB available (Weeden/Tennehill), if Rams allow only next years 1st plus this years 3rd, then RG3 becomes my 4th option.

If Miami did not have to trade up, and Philbin did not feel extremely confident about Flynn ove RG3, I might make RG3 my 2nd option, but the Rams want too much, and if the Rams don't take RG3, the Browns will.

I chose Matt Flynn because I think the price for moving up to get RGIII will be too high, ultimately RGIII would be my first choice. Peyton Manning would just be another attempt to fill a long term need with a short term solution.

Can we stop all the "one hit away from being paralyzed" and "brittle neck bones" garbage please? It's been proven that his bones are completely fused and is in no more danger of serious injury than any other player in the league. The question is only his arm strength, which even that is being put to rest. Manning will be fine for this upcoming season.

Some people will just pull crap out of anywhere to try to make their point be heard. If we stuck to the facts here the conversations could be a bit more enjoyable.
Fact is there is NO better option than a strong arm Manning.

I'm sorry, but either you don't know what you're talking about, or you misunderstood what I was saying. Yes, Peyton Manning's neck bones are flaking away at this point. He's had two surgeries to remove bone spurs from the same area, in addition to the surgery to fix a bulging disc and the subsequent surgery to fuse his vertebrae, and already there are rumors that he may need another surgery to remove more bone spurs. So yes, Peyton's neck bones are flaking off at this point under the strain of him continuing to try and play a game he's not really healthy enough to play anymore.

I'll go with Matt Moore coupled with a draft pick - maybe Tannehil or Weeden

Peyton Manning is too old.

Matt Flynn isnt better than Matt Moore.

RG3 will cost too many draft picks.
