The name that I think I wouldn't mind is Hue Jackson. WCO guy and I think he is a pretty good teacher of QBs, RBs and WRs. I also think he could put together a pretty good staff under him on the offesive side of the ball.

Nice list. I'd be interested in Kubiak, McAdoo, or Linehan, I think.

I've heard that Kubiak is very good friends with Mike Sherman, and the more I think about it, the more I think that actually makes him more likely to take the job. I think Sherman took one for the team, and he might endorse his friend for the job to keep his family on the staff.

Ken Dorsey actually kind of intrigues me. He's a really smart guy. I doubt he's ready for the job, or that this is the right situation for him to jump into, though.

Scott Linehan would be a great fit here. The problem in Detroit is that Matthew Stafford is incredibly careless with the football. Incredibly careless. Ryan Tannehill is not careless with the football. You look at Matt Stafford's interceptions and you see decisions that make you think "what the ****?" You look at Ryan Tannehill's interceptions and you only got two or three like that. Just on 'arm hit as he throws,' 'receiver slipped' and 'end of game hail mary' that's like nine or ten of 'em.

McAdoo runs the Packers system. That's what I wanted and got me excited when we brought in Philbin. I'd like to see them actually implement it.

i'm glad someone else notices that...of course this will be chalked up as a happy adjustment as well by some...

that's part of the reason why i believe his ints numbers this year going forward were more the exception than the norm...the kid doesn't throw the ball into coverage...

WOW! Great list and analysis but I'm pretty sure Philbin will opt for a WCO genius, that said let me filter some names:

"Read-option" offense:
Chad Morris-Clemson OC.

Classic "smash mouth" offense guys:
Dowell Loggains- Former Tennessee Titans OC.
Bill Musgrave- Minnesota Vikings OC.

The so-called Pro-style:
Ken Dorsey- Carolina Panthers QB.
Norv Turner- Cleveland Browns OC.

Air Coryell offense:
Scott Linehan-Former Detroit Lions OC


West Coast offense:
Gary Kubiak- Former Houston Texans HC. Best option here, but as you pointed could take a year off due to his health.
Rob Chudzinski Former Cleveland Browns HC. Too creative for this team, but could be a great contributor.
Ben McAdoo- Green Bay Packers QB coach. He's seen as a feasible candidate for Browns' HC role, so that's a great thing to have in mind.
Kyle Shanahan-Former Washington Redskins OC. Experienced, great credentials ignoring 2013 RG3 post-injury failure.
Rick Dennison- Former Houston Texans OC. I assume he's as good as it gets if we can't grab any previous candidate.
Ken Zampese- Cincinnati Bengals QB Coach. These shoes look bigger than his feet but he has made excellent job with Bengals young stars
Mike Groh-Chicago Bears WR Coach. Hiring him would mean it was a desperate call. Chicago did well in 2013 but it was with very different offensive ingredients.
Bill Lazor- Philadelphia Eagles QB Coach. This is an overrated coach that's enjoying success of his HC.
Hue Jackson- Cincinnati Bengals RB Coach. Hue is a great man but won't co-exist with Joe Philbin.
Dan Campbell- Miami Dolphins TE Coach. Really? Campbell could be a decent OC if we're running a college program an have 2-3 years to show results.

true....but they are usually the best ones...the guys not meant to be hcs but got their shot cause they were good ocs and couldn't make it as hcs

I never even thought of hue as an option, I would like that a lot. The raiders offense was actually pretty damn good when he was there. McFadden pit up some serious #s in that offense, and all those ridiculously unpolished athletic WRs they had were actually productive, no one on that team has put up even close to the same #s without hue.

I think the only option will be be PAckers qb coach. I M not thinking many top level OC's are going to come play for a team that basically has a lame duck coach /gm combo.
We might get a Brian Daboll type hire but I believe our field is limited because if you are a top OC candidate it would be smarter to go with a team that is putting an initial staff together

My Pick would be Scott Linehan or Norv Turner. Very Seasoned offensive coordinators with very effective systems. Norv was the man in Dallas and San Diego. Scott Linehan waas the coordinator here as well when Dave Wannstedt was here I belive. Norv and Scott belive in balance and strong running game to complement the pass and vice versa.
