Would minor hip surgery require 3 months of recovery?

If it's a major surgery, that can't be good for the future. Hips are rather important for a center. A hip injury could linger for awhile.

What kind of hip surgery? Is this something that may hurt his longevity? How did it happen? hopefully we get some answers soon, not good news......hopefully whoever steps in is good enough to take his job away from him.....now that would make me smile....

If Pouncey returns in three months, he’d be returning around Week 3 or 4. The Dolphins play the Raiders in London in Week 4 and then have a bye week, so if the 3+ month timetable is accurate Pouncey could realistically be out through the bye week.

Sam Brenner, an undrafted rookie last year who briefly started at left guard, is considered the team’s backup center.

Miami does still have Brenner, Garner, and FA Larson that was at one time considered one if the top centers in this years draft...Let's hope one of them impresses enough to hold the fort until Pouncey is ready again.

This is a bit of a blow. Brenner can play pretty well and will have training camp to work on his game so that is a pretty big plus, but it's hard to replace a Pro Bowl caliber player. Let's hope this pans out well. O-line still seems to be an area of concern that I hope doesn't trickle into the season.
