Price Offered Deal!

i think i'd rather see Boston in there.

while I'd love to see Boston revert back to his 1st and 2nd year self....it's been a long time since he's played that well and he's been injured and juiced in the past. He was good before the juice but he may simply have a mental block or something now. I just don't see him being anything more for this team than a #3. Again, I'd love it if he could out play Booker (who I've always liked for his consistancy, even if the QBs that throw to him aren't consistant) but if Boston does flat-out out play Booker, his ego is likely to get the better of him again and want top dollar.

I just don't think Boston plays for us past this season unless it's on the cheap again. we'll see.

I believe Price rejected a deal in Dallas because he wants a long term contract. I can't imagine Miami gave him that long term contract.

We'll wait it out. In the mean time I hear that fourth round pick WR Fred Gibson is about to be cut by the Steelers. What gives? I love Fred Gibson, wonder if Saban does too (another SEC boy). We have 2nd dibs on the waiver wire so basically anyone waived is ours unless the 49ers take them.

The problem is, the Niners might have the worst set of receivers in all of football. Could you imagine their receivers with our QB's? :shakeno:

Brandon Lloyd is not even a number two receiver...let alone a umber three. Plus, I guess Rashaun Woods has fallen out of favor with Nolan. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up on the market later this year or next. In fact, I am surprised that Price wasn't picked up.

I know for a fact that the Niners are kicking themselves about not signing Boston. They admitted as much on their flagship station.

I doubt Price signs with Miami. I mean, as much as I hate to demean Miami, who would you rather line up with as a WR: Gus or Brady?
Anyway, Price is over rated and isn't worth the cap room we'd be sacrificing for him.

Price is a waste of money. We need help elsewhere on our roster.

In my humble opinion, I believe that with the drought of talented quarterbacks in this league, at least ones that are available, Saban is looking for anyone talented enough to catch any meager, over the head, behind the back pass that our lousy quarterbacks will toss their way. If we get Price, we may have unarguably the best recievers corps, best running back duo and one of the best defenses in the league.

So next year, when we can get rid of the round peg of Feely and Frerotte and start looking for a quarterback that fits into the star shaped hole in our offense, we can finally end this childish game and move up into the big league playoff picture.

Price would be a great pick-up. Great speed and hands. He can help stretch the field and get separation, something our other receivers have a problem doing.

I love the flashy catches Chambers makes, but I question whether you saw Booker play in Chicago based on your comment. He took a crappier QB situation than what Chambers has had and parlayed it into two 1000 yard seasons and a Pro Bowl. He isn't flashy, but he does everything a receiver is supposed to do. He gets lost in coverage, runs great routes, and catches the ball.

I did see him play in Chicago, and yes he was very good there. But here in Miami, in case you didn't notice he drops more balls than Chambers does. He also doesn't get open like Chambers does, and certainly doesn't make the incredible plays that scare a defense like Chambers does. Players change. Booker has not been able to get back to the level that got him his success in Chicago.

Besides, the difference between the offense in Chicago and the offense in Miami helps explain Chambers' lack of production vs. Booker's production with similar crappiness at QB. I forget the name of that guy who ran the Chicago offense at the time, but he had a rep for having one of the most complicated passing games in the business and a rep for passing it a lot. Norv would have loved to pass more than he did in Miami, but Wannstedt overruled him because he wanted to play more close to the vest given our supposed talent and prospects for getting to the playoffs.

Riley was the coach of Chicago...who was the OC god this is gonna kill me..

BTW nobody can accuse us of a lack of speed at WR if we field a unit that features Chambers, Boston, Gilmore, Welker, and Price. Even with Booker not having the kind of speed those guys do, that's some SERIOUS track speed.

YEAH! I think that's it. He had a VERY complicated and extensive passing offense. When they got rid of him, I remember Chicago fans saying man thank god they got rid of him that offense was too tricky and didn't run enough.

Saban talked about wanting to add a true slot reciever last week.

I think Peerless is good as a 3rd wr, not what they tried to do with him in Atlanta.

I'm not too impressed with Price although he has burned us a few times when he was in Buffalo. He'll go to the Pats. I'd be surprised if he chooses us.

Why would we be looking at Peerless Price with Chambers, Boston and Booker all in the fold as an every down WR? Could someone (maybe Booker?) be on the verge of being cut/traded?

Can never have too many players at WR especially if they're not all that expensive. Remember that if Boston does well he's likely going to bolt for the highest bidder next year...think long term.
