Pro Bowlers drafted by each team in the last 5 years...

Yeah, guess he just lied to make himself look bad. lol

Do you think Hickey has Clowney rated as the top prospect? Probably right? and do you think he's spending the same amount of time on him as he is the prospects expected to go in our range? Newsome didn't need a QB and even if he did there was no way he was getting his mitts on Russell.

Also Newsome is not the guy "lying" to make himself look bad, Bilick, the guy that was fired by Newsome, is the one spreading this rumor.

One of the smarter moves Ozzie made was being willing to risk losing an effective DC whom he obviously did not believe could cut it as HC - by going outside to hire a talented special teams coach over him. The results speak for themselves!

Ozzie is a strange one for me he is clearly a good gm but is he the gm he once was? Or as his rep suggests? Idk, I know he won a super bowl just a year ago but I never thought that was a terrific team and it certainly had its struggles and in recent years he has made some moves I would very much question

cerrainly not a bad gm but the god among gms some make him out as? Meh

This isn't that telling how about we find out how many of these PBs players had multiple stints that brings clarity -> to the abillity of GMs

Unless we're talking about Al Davis, successful drafting is at least 70 percent luck, if only by virtue of the fact that you're sometimes blessed to have a higher draft pick in the right year. Case in point is Nagta. Evidently, Saban was trying like holy hell to trade up to get him. It just wasn't in the cards. If it was so obvious that Russel Wilson was going to be an elite QB, he wouldn't have been drafted in the third round. I'll just take a guess and say that if you go back through all of Mel Kiper's draft day grades, there's very little correlation between ultimate success and his predictions. (I'm not bashing Mel Kiper either).

Bill Polian is seen as some genius, in part, because of his success with the Colts. He was fortunate enough to have Peyton Manning, who would have made Jeff Ireland look like a genius.

Speilman was never much more than a rubber stamp for Wanny. His relative success with MN only serves to emphasize that despite The Stache's moderate success on the field - in reality he set this franchise back as much if not more than any other of the usual bozo suspects.

Yep. Spielman might not be great, but he's done pretty OK in Minny other than striking out repeatedly on a QB. I think he got the best one in the draft this time, so...

All you have to do is look at Wanny's personnel record in Chicago to see the similarities. Spielman was Wanny's lieutenant, not the decision maker.

Who the hell cares about pro bowls? Players who don't deserve it make it all the time, especially with Super Bowl players being excluded. Make a list showing all-pros drafted by each team if you want to judge drafting ability.

I challenge the credibility of that list. How long ago was Paul soali drafted. Didn't rashard Jones and pouncy both make the pro bowl as well.

Dang jones got snubbed and soali was in 2007. Hartline was an alternative

Soliai was drafted by Cam Cameron/Randy Mueller in the 2007 draft. Pouncey made the pro bowl but Reshard has never made it.

Lets keep this in perspective though...it is the pro bowl which is a popularity contest. Good fantasy football players get voted in before guys who really deserve it.

Spielman's actually done a halfway decent job in Minnesota, except for the fact that his quarterbacks are all hot garbage.

And the ****ty coaching they have had...Chilly Childress, Leslie Frazier, and now Mike Zimmer. Well Mike Zimmer has a chance at least...

The draft is 30% skill and 70% crapshoot. Which is why Jimmie Johnson almost always collected picks and almost always took the best athletes on his board...preferably the one with the least question marks. Its why we ended up and whiffed with Avery. But its also why we ended up with Thomas and Taylor and several others. Then he would coach them up. Jimmie knew you couldn't coach talent.

I still say if he hadn't decided he was done with the grind of coaching, he would've had us SB bound within 2 more years.

Ozzie is excellent, he drafts best player available after the first round need pick. Tell me CJ Mosley wasn't need for them. Daryl Smith is 32 and the other side was a hot mess last year.

I don't agree with all of Hickeys picks, but I can see where he's going. Receivers that don't drop the ball. Consistent olineman that were multiyear starters to plug in. Athletic linebackers for the 4-3. Too bad we didn't have a few more picks to work on the TE/LB issues. Not bad for a first year GM trying to fix the mistakes of the past.

Absolutely nothing, just more proof that our drafting has been bottom of the barrel for too long.

unless Tannehill rises to the top. Then everything changes, which then gets you more teammates as PB's. Peyton Manning can get guys in. TB. This means nothing to me except that Seattle scored bigtime.

and jake long? oh he is no longer with us....conclusion. bad drafting. lol

Those guys only made the pro bowl because the first and second options were either inured or washing their Bentley.
None of those guys are the best at their positions. The pro bowl is not what it used to be IMHO
The only players we have drafted since 2008 that deserved to be in the pro bowl was Jake Long. His game broke down and after he stopped lifting.
This team screams mediocrity in terms of drafted talent. The best players we have had were FA signings. Most have come and gone.

Now there's a reality check. LOL

Well, the odds of anyone making the pro bowl from the group we drafted this year as of now doesn't look promising outside of Landry. Not saying I hate the draft. We got a group of solid players. Nothing that screams super star though. But the NFL has been surprised before.
