ProFootball Talk report Saints found blueprint to stop Wildcat

Thats the same strategy Rex used in Baltimore... The Wildcat isnt dead. Its all about execution and personnel... The Saints had the personnel to do it effectively. The Jets dont.

Henne was on the field Sunday because we don't have Cobbs anymore...but the one thing we have yet to run this yr that we did successfully last yr was the pitch the the Qb for the long pass....NO was leaving the door open for it the WHOLE game and we never once tried it.

We have got to be able to throw the ball or the D will continue to sell out on the plays.

The Jumbo Wildcat wasn't used against New Orleans... and if i remember correctly the jumbo package is what gave the Jets fits... in the Jumbo, it's looked as if the blitzes off the edge didn't get there in time... i saw alot of uncovered tacklers in the New Orleans Game, and it was when Henne and or the WR's remained on the field... look at the tape and you'll see what i mean...

Same personall with the exception of Henne instead of Cobbs. IMO we need to either get Ronnie throwing the ball or sub Henne out with Hilliard.

Im sure no coach ever thought of this. Quick, ask profootball to pull back the article before others see.

Trust me, many of you need help with detecting sarcasm.

I doubt Pat White will be nearly as effective as a Wildcat player as Ronnie Brown. I'd much rather see him in the game.
pat white is a smurf Ive been telling these guys that its not the same run if you can't break tackles tebow would be a better wild cat qbPat White... the guy is just too small

Dude like you know he'll be lining up to throw run second... Reverse is true now

The Umps and the Dolphin's turnovers are what stopped us last Sunday, and NOT the Saints themselves. It's funny reading comments by Brees saying, "We knew we would come back and win the game." Two plays decided the game.....Bess's fumble, when his knee was clearly on the ground, and Ginn's bobble of the pass which led to the Saint's INT and TD return.

As far as the Wildcat, we do need to throw the ball from this formation a little more, and maybe throw in a reverse play and add some wrinkles so the Jet's have more to think about.

The main reason you guys are so effective with the WC is that Ronnie Brown and Rickey Williams are a perfect fit for it. They are big, strong running backs with great speed and vision and can make the first man miss. Because the WC gives you an extra blocker and forces defensive players to win their individual blockers all it takes is Ronnie or Rickey to blow up one defender to get a big gain.

Pat White isn't blowing any NFL defenders up.

Its not like Pat White's development stops once the season begins. I sure would like to see him do something beside run and fake an option attempt. He had Ronnie last game for the pitch and he froze up and got tackled.

well Ronnie Brown saw Greer blitz, so he backed up n' thrw to an OPEN fasano who dropped it like a lil' *****

I like seeing Henne back in the formation. It just adds one more dimension to the formation. Think the reverse-pass against Houston last year.

I threw my Dolphin's hat about 25 feet at the sport's bar I was at when Fasano dropped that pass. You cannot drop a pass like that, especially when we had to have that catch. :rolleyes2:
