FYI - credibility is for the reader to determine ...

MIAMI'S O-LINE SHOULD SHUT UP?

In response to our report that the Miami Dolphins' offensive linemen are getting frustrated by the criticism being heaped upon them by coach Nick Saban, multiple league insiders have told us that the problem isn't the new blocking scheme or the changes to the lineup, but the talent of the linemen.

Or, to be more specific, the absence thereof.

"They are what they are," said one personnel exec. "Collectively they blow. It doesn't matter who you have in there to coach them. Jesus couldn't work a miracle with these turds.

"Saban is right," the source added. "If they can't block they don't deserve to play. And he'll clean that toilet bowl out by this time next year."

he should have cleaned them out this past offseason, if you ask me...

i'm still bewildered as to how the team's biggest weakness last season was not really addressed this spring besides drafting a fifth-round project and signing a veteran RT who can't pass block...

i will say, however, that San Diego's line looked equally as awful going into last season.... and they got it done, somehow... (even though Ladanian only averaged 3.9)

and replaced with who?

i believe tomlinson's subpar( yeah lol )season was due to the fact that he battled ankle injuries all year. the 3.9ypc you referred to

Things are taken way out of context there. I do not think anyone is saying Vernon Carey sucks. I do not think anyone is saying Hadnot (still basically a rookie) sucks. What Saban means by "it is what it is" goes back to his other quotes, "we are a work in progress". If someone is stinking it up, they get replaced. It just sucks to be a part of something that you as an individual shouldnt get blamed for when teh whole unit gets it from the media and fans.

Truthfully I happen to agree with you. I've been Saban supporter from the get go, but I was a bit concerned when they said that these guys will be able to perform. Since we landed one of the best offensive line coaches in the league there should be no problem, right????....WRONG!! He is a great coach, but even a great coach can't perform miracles. The line we presently have s**ks big time and they need to completely revamp it. The only problem being, there isn't much out there now. It'll have to be addressed next year some time...

Take this for what it is. It's a report from PFT. They tend to just make Sh*t up. I can't believe its that bad. Vernon Carey, Rex Hadnot, Jeno James, Stocker Mcdougle, Frank Middleton ; you can't tell me these guys aren't at least average.

'Turds', 'Toilet Bowls', what fowl mouthed poorly educated FO is this guy interviewing? The Detroit lions or something?

we should hire someone to hack the dog crap outta PFT :D

good question. aside from the impossibility of replacing an entire line in one offseason, i think saban and houck need some time to work with these people and see how much of their inability is correctible (i.e. bad habits) and how much is not. SOME of these linemen will stick with the team beyond this year, guaranteed. carey and hadnot are good bets.

Well the bright side is the attitude they had at the beginning of camp was the ywanted to prove the critics wrong. Maybe this makes them angry which can be a good thing. These are pros and I don;t see them sitting in a corner pouting about criticism. I think they'd want to work as hard as possible to change things.
