Protect Ryan Tannehill or trade Cam Wake?

In my opinion, I don't want to trade Cam Wake. The topic has come up in other threads and I want to know what the forum thinks. What is more important to the Dolphins, protecting Ryan Tannehill or Cam Wake's pass rush ability to the team?

That being said, the only trade scenario I'd give up Wake for is one that in return, we receive a dominant LT to protect our QB. We have 1 solid starter on our oline(pouncey) but, we have a few good to great pass rushers on our dline(OV, Jordan and Shelby).

Thoughts.
 
For someone who has Wake as his avatar, you should be ashamed of yourself. I cant believe that people seriously want to trade Wake. I'd rather spend every last draft pick from round 1 to 7 on O-Linemen before I trade our leader and one of our best players in the last 5 years. HELL NO.
 
wooooooo good question.

Dominant (DL) + below average (OL) > average (DL) + average(OL) ....................in my opinion

I definitely would rather keep our superstar strength and depth on the Dline, and have a dominant area of our team.....

than make our awful OL-- just OK with a LT, and at the same time..making our OL just OK..
 
Keep Wake. We have him on a ridiculously friendly contract. It's the GM's job to find a damn LT in the draft to avoid these exact situations. Get an OT in the draft. Period.
 
I'd be in favor of trading Wake only if they got good value in return. I do think he has been playing hurt all season but he's not getting older and either has already entered the point of diminishing returns or is very close to doing so. I love Wake but getting rid of players BEFORE they decline is nothing but smart business.

So, Wake's pass rush ability is more important to you than protecting Tannehill?

No, but you dont have to trade one of your best players and team leaders to protect Tannehill genius.
 
cams only 31...hes got at least 4 more productive seasons left in him id imagine..

two probably at superstar level , one at about slightly above average level, one at realizing hes basicallyy done-zo level
 
Getting more protection for Tanny so he can properly develop in the pocket should be the fins # 1 priority this season.
