QB controversy deja vu

see, thats where I think a lot of you guys are losing sight on him. What he did in Cincinnati, Denver, Washington means absolutely nothing. It would be like looking at what Garcia did in Cleveland last year, even though he's back in a comfortable offense now (which, btw, I think he'll easily overtake Harrington by midseason) He has done well in Linehan's offense, and right now for the next few years, thats what matters. He's got the arm, the smarts, and the extensive knowledge of this offense to be successful.

He signed a 2 year deal, so we have him till 2007 in whatever capacity.

Do I think he'll be Rich Gannon? Unlikely, but he has so many more weapons here than just Moss.

I honestly believe that once the pads are on, that he is really going to seperate himself from all of the other QBs. Just being able to go out there, and rattle off all the plays from memory with no effort whatsoever is what will really help him.

how many starts did gus have in minnesota? what he did in cincinnatti, denver and washington (well that is most of his career). we cannot build a solid foundation for the future with a 35 yr. old backup. feeley may have a future. if gus starts it's because of the relationship (politics) with the personnel. i know feeley probably isn't a super star. but let's see what the kid has. last year was terrible no matter who was qb for us. wanny was in love with fiedler so feeley never got a chance. i hope we are not in the same situation where linehan is in love with gus and linehan motivates saban for gus to start. gus has been a backup for eleven years. it shouldn't change now. we have alot invested in feeley. he obviously has potential. he just needs experience to cut down on his mistakes and to make better reads. feeley is still a rookie as far as nfl starts go. put him in and let him prove himself. he plays with alot of emotion. give him a chance. if he does not get the job done then draft next year. gus is not a starter and shouldn't be.

When you come to grips with reality, you'll know that AJ is getting nothing handed to him.

:goof: in 2 seasons @ minnesota gus had a whopping 66 passing attempts. in 2004 he had 1 attempt. in 2003 he had 65 attempts. in 2 yrs. @ minnesota he had 38 completions. when the season starts he will be 34 years old. he basically did not play at all last season in a real game.
i agree with you on the gordon deal and that we should not have given a 2nd round for feeley. gus a pro bowler. he has had 11 years. feeley tries making something out of nothing and gets flustered from a lack of experience and coaching. i want the best player on the field but i would really like to see feeley come out with the team we have now and the confidence that he is the man. i would like to see what he can do. honestly i haven't seen gus play much. he was terrible at times in denver. i remember that. i remember the good game in minnesota. but now the dolphins have that offensive coordinator and great receivers. time for feeley to go down the field. last year is irrelevant. the line was awful, no running game, no depth at receiver and playing catch up entire 2nd half. you must try to make things happen in those situations (make something out of nothing). i truly believe that if feeley can get the new system down pat by pre-season he will be up on gus.
feeley only had like 5 or 6 starts in college? 5 starts in philly and 8 last year. he is inexperienced. 13 nfl starts which is not an entire season. the 8 starts last year was with the worst o-line in nfl and nearly worst rushing game.

why would miami bring in a guy to start or potentially start that is 34 years old, lifetime backup and no play last season. it doesn't make sense. i believe gus is there to help teach feeley the system and to put pressure on him to mature. linehan said he is very impressed with feeley and has unbelievable talent.
