QB performance based on specific variables

Over the last 2 years he's been in the top half of the NFL in producing against the blitz....I would say he is better then ****ty....

Go watch that game...I could care less about "top half". This league is full of crap QB's and just a few elite ones. So saying he is in the "top half" doesn't mean ****.

Why so angry....I never said elite I said not ****ty...calm you tits.

My goodness man. How can you look at the roster crap Tannehill had to deal w. the first two years and NOT see that he often makes up for failures surrounding him? Innumerable plays where guys would FAIL utterly in assignments around Tannehill and he would make a play or save a play from being a loss. He'd get the ball out quicker or stand an deliver while taking a hit. Over and over.

I think Ryan Tannehill is pretty good and I believe he is our QB for the next 10+ years.

I just wanted it to be clear that that was the opinion of the FO Film Room analysts, not my own opinion.

I'm sorry, he is also ****ty at reading a blitz. Against Caroilina, they were blitzing the corner about every third play and didn't stop for almost a quarter until Tannehill finally read it write once.

Simply, false.

Tanne has done a fine job under pressure. One of the reasons I like him so much and believe him to have a high ceiling. Not arguing what you're saying happened in the Carolina game but one game doesn't make him bad against the blitz nor is it enough to say he cant read a blitz.

It isn't just the Carolina game. That was just one game where it was a GLARING issue.

According to the article posted in the OP he's pretty terrible vs pressure.

vs Blitz, pressure
Average Passer rating 60.4
Tannehill 43.7
Wilson 79.3

vs No blitz, pressure
Average Passer rating 60.9
Tannehill 48.1
Wilson 78.9

Actually, according to their chart only 8 of the 46 QBs had a worse passer rating than Tannehill vs pressure.

PFF and Football Outsiders' film room both really like Tannehill. FO went as far as saying that they think Tannehill can be a top QB because he's demonstrated the ability to make up for failures surrounding him (their opinion, not mine). :idk:

The more I think about it, Tanne pullin out 7-9 and 8-8 is a really understated accomplishment. How many QB's have we seen on sketchy teams completely fail because hey, the team around them's just not strong enough to carry the QB. Tannehill got the most he could out of 2 seasons with, As a Rookie, less than half a WR corps., and then in year 2, less than half an OLine or any real RB/TE depth. That's essentially the whole offense and the kitchen sink having a questionable grade. I would expect a top 10 QB to pull the same kind of results, and wouldn't bat an eye at it.

and no QB was under pressure as often as RT either. It's a stat that does not have an accurate depiction of his ability. He was under pressure nearly every play...it was totally ridiculous to watch.

If you look further, there is a breakdown of vs blitz, and vs pressure, which are two different things. RT vs pressure was #19 but. was #5 vs a blitz, and had 10 drops.
