Question about Linehan's style

Moss expressed his frustrastion w/DC and his lob ball that always was up for grabs. Moss liked Gus's deep ball better and w/o Moss to win those jump balls, Vikes' and DC's #'s will suffer!!!!!

HuH? U serious?

Moss only got frustrated when DC wouldnt throw it up to him.

I mean, I think you guys have TONS of talent. IM not going to be some stupid Bills poster on here.

BUT, you guys know, Im sure, that Moss changes everything. He take 2 sometimes 3 defenders out of the play every single play.

I love Chambers skills, but TO doesnt even have what Moss has. Add Culpepper, who scrambled A LOT in this system, not all by design, and you really cant go wrong as a CoOrdinator.

Moss was that offense. Culpepper is top 3, in terms of trying to defend QB's.

I Know the Fins have way more talent than Baltimore, but Brian Billick hasnt had near the offensive success since he left.

TO has More TDs' than Moss and was on a pathetic SF team!!!!!

Daunte stayed in the pocker alot this last year, enough so that even the fans' wanted him to run more.

Moss was not tripled on plays he was covered by a deep cover 2 that the safety was so deep thathe was no help to any run support or crossing underneath stuff. Yes by the time DC's rain maker gotto Moss sometimes there were 3 guys aroun but never really trip.teamed. Come on!!!! that would make it 10 on 8 and they would have 2 guys so wide that DC would not need to even look at Moss!

Holt is a year in year out more productive player than Moss. I would rather have a Moss on my team b/c of raw talent, but to say that he is the best would be a stretch. The best deep threat, yes! He was not the fastest guy in Minny, there were a couple(Cambell and Bennet) faster, and who knows about the rest of the roster. I would dare to say his acceleration is second to none.

Linehan will try to stretch the field kind of like Norv did when he was OC

I must have slept through those plays and games!!!!! Norv made a comment that they threw more deep balls' in the first practice in OAK than the Fins did the whole time he was in Miami. Norv wanted to use CC more but Wanny tied his hands and said to stick to the run.

The Dal game it was opened up and it was nice!!!!!!

Touchdowns since 1998 (Moss's rookie year)

Moss - 90
T.O. - 83

Holt - 45

T.O. was in his 3rd year by 98 and he had his breakout season that year. Moss has been a TD machine since he entered the league. Holt came into the league in 99, and is a good WR, but is nowhere in the class of a Moss or TO. I rank Moss slightly higher than TO but much higher than whatever player you deem is the #3 best WR...

Ok fair enough points. However, to me the only difference between what Minny had with Moss and Duante and what Miami could have withour entire offense is that qb who can do the job. And we all know its harder to cover a multitude of weapons than it is 1 guy. If that werent the case NE wouldnt have won squat and Minny would have won the last few titles because they had the most talented player in Moss (and yes more talented than Vick imo). I think Miami has the weapons in place at the offensive skill spots to give teams fits.

It took Duante a long time to master that offense and Randy is what made it go. It took Gus about half a season to master it so we'll see what happens with Miami's qb situation. i believe ultimately this will determine our season because we have enough proven talent on both sides of the ball except @ qb to be a playoff team. Maybe safety is the only other exception to that.

As far as Chambers/moss, no doubt who's better. But their physical attributes arent that different. Moss and Chambers combine high jumps were two of the highest ever recorded (CC was 48 i think and Moss 44"...or maybe its reversed not 100% sure), both have very good speed and both have posted good YPC totals; though Chambers for a multitude of reasons hasnt been as consistant in that area. So while Moss is better their attributes arent incredibly different; moss has just had the benefit of a good qb and a good system. Thats not to say Chambers could ever be as good as moss but he can fill the same role; i.e. stretch the field, go get jump balls, make the D pay extra attention to him. Of course CC still has to prove he can do consistantly

ALot of times teams play a Saftey on top and a LB underneath Moss. CB, S, and LB = 3 people covering Moss.

I was Watching NFL network and they showed a highlight where the FS was almost standing on the sideline. I mean they werent even trying to hide the fact that they were doubling Moss.

I'll guess we'll see more of a conventional style I-formation offense then anything else.

I seriously doubt Saban will allow Linehan to play RUMBA football.
