  1. The poll is not silly. You have a right to post what you want. It’s a fan forum for fans to talk. Just because someone doesn’t like it they should just pass it up and there is no need to call this silly. I didn’t get to see the 72’ team, I was 2 years old. I would trade it so I could see my team win now. Then I would trade that one for another in the next 5 years after. I live in the now not the past.

Hell yes I would. I’d rather brag about a recent super bowl than the fact that we were undefeated 46 years ago.

No offense, but I was a twinkle in my mothers eye in 72. I’d give my left but to have been able to experience that though!

I was a Colts fan at a kid. My pop liked them so liked them.

I followed the Fins the year Woodley led them to the Super Bowl. Got on board officially when Marino was the starter.

I was three in '72...so ir doesn't hold as much relevance to me as it would someone in their 60s. That said, I understand tradition and iconic moments...so I voted "no".

The Undefeated Season is unique in the modern history of the NFL.

The accomplishment makes our franchise unique as well.

So no way.

But, I'd trade it to go 19 - 0 in the next five years! :D

Sorry OGs but I wasn’t alive so I would trade it. I really wish Marino had one more than anything

Do we still win the SB in that 72 season? Or are we giving that up too? Personally I like the legacy of it

What difference does it make if we have 1 SB win in 72 or 1 in 2022, its nil

Because as a 29 year old I would like to be able to experience what it’s like to win a Super Bowl.

Wait.

WHAT?

This is where I diverge from the popular opinion. A SB win vs 1972? Give me that win, baby.

No chance. For one thing, the premise is pure fear. I realize fear is immensely popular these days but I don't share it.

To give up something you already have -- the most unique and legendary accomplishment in American team sports -- toward something you might attain anyway without giving anything up, is pure stupidity. I don't know any other way to put it. The Dolphins could be a dynasty in 5 years. Immense underdog status on that one but I'm sure as heck not going to diminish the history of the franchise as substitute.

I don't think the remainder of my lifespan will include another Dolphins championship. I saw 1972 as a season ticket holder when I was 13 years old. Obviously I cherish every memory, as I've detailed here many times. But even if the titles and perfect season happened before I was born I would understand the significance. That's why I've had so many fascinating talks with people who saw things before my time, like Jim Brown's career or early Cassius Clay or Ben Hogan or great racehorses like Count Fleet and Citation. Non-sports also but I'll leave that out.

The notion that somebody is living in the present via this poll is most laughable of all. No, you are terrified of the future.
