Boik14 said:Regarding the OL: It was bad but part of being a good Qb is getting rid of the ball quicker. Youre saying he had 2 seconds once he planted his foot to throw; well whats he doing when he dropping back? It wasnt surveying the field or that ball would be out and he'd be avoiding hits.
Part of the reason a Manning or a Brady or even a Delhomme is so effective is because they can process that information while theyre dropping back at a faster rate than a qb who cannot read and understand coverages and cannot process info nearly as quickly. The Qb's mentioned above do little things to help the confidence and ease the role of their OL's to make them look, in some cases, more effective then they are or have been that game or season.
You act as though our OL last year was the worst ever. Im by no stretch saying it was good but you know Aikman (1st few years), Brady (his 1st year), Phil Simms (at various points), etc all played behind bas OL's at various points. And theyre all the same classic dropback qb as Aj is. So why cant Aj just not make critical mistakes?
In conclusion I dont think Manning could have thrown 49 but I think he still would have had his yearly 30+ as he did for a few years in Indy when their OL was nothing special early on in his career. The difference between AJ and Manning ultimately comes down to skill level and the vast differences there. It comes down to the ability to process information at a ridiculous speed and being able to make adjustments and understanding why those adjustments work. I dont expect ANY QB we get to be Marino or Manning; thats simply not reseasonable. Just dont kill your own team with incredibly dumb mistakes by throwing the ball into coverages you obviously cant read; just throw it in the flat or something to a back or TE. Its better than throwing the ball wrong team.
Now my questions to you are: Why cant AJ read and process information? Why cant Aj develop touch on his passes? What is it that infatuates certain members of this and other boards with potential; what am i missing here? I watched every phin game; most of them 2-3x (which in some cases was torture as you can imagine). What does it take to realize that AJ has little if any upside?
Boik14, I simply asked a question based on what we all seem to agree on, that's all, I don't act like nothing...sorry...but in response to one of your points, brady, manning, don't read anything going back in their stance, they have all day to read once they get back there..have you been watching their games...when pressure is put on them, they do the same thing at aj did, throw int's...remember fast reading brady against us last year?
