We needed a developmental qb so why not take a guy who comps well with what we do. I was wanting him or Seth McLaughlin here in the 7th. I hope Seth lasts until we pick again, I know he will have to spend 1st year on IR but he would have been a top C if not for the injury

I always look for a QB that can hit seam routes and pkay between hashes. He does it. Anyone can be scared and throw out routes. Jay Fiedler couldn’t play verticle and it killed us. Ewers is a smart kid. Let’s see what he can do.
He was talked about as a blue chipper for a long time. Maybe he finds his lane with us and makes the team but will keep 3 QBs??

I love it as a 7th round pick. Now I was totally against when people were saying he was a 1st/2bd round type guy.I think it’s a great 7th round pick. Some of you guys are such little bitches
I am not sold on him as a NFL starter, but he has some natural talent, now it is how bad does he want it and willing to work. I do think he can become at least a high end BU, which is well worth a 7th. 10x the QB as Thompson who we spent a 7th on.

A pick worth taking a chance on, especially since this was not a great QB class, imo.
The kid had his team vying for a Natty two years.
Has a lot of footwork problems and zeroes in on his primary too often but when he's on, he's pretty damned good.
Can't be mad about that with a SEVENTH rounder.
And for those that love the ratings, he was rated as the #4 QB in this class on at least one site.
