Hey, it's round 7 and Ewers has enough good tape and success at a big time college to stick.

Dude was terrible in games that mattered. the few games I watched dude is a frustrating qb to watch.

The 2024 season happened?

This. To me he really didn't fall from a 1st rounder to the 7th. Ya some guys had him as a 1st rounder over a year ago, but those mocks are a lot of guess work and projecting how much a player will develop. For me the real type mocks kinda start after the season and really after the combine, as this is when teams really start breaking down film, taking interviews with the kids, talking to the players coaches, ect.

Does anyone have a summary of how he dropped from a first round pick all the way down to 7th round? Was it combine?

No he just never put the potential together....he only been ok given the weapons he's had available......that doesn't mean he can't....he's shown flashes...just not consistently

He was talked about as a blue chipper for a long time. Maybe he finds his lane with us and makes the team but will keep 3 QBs??

If they dont.....it won't be Ewers that's cut.

I think he was playing through injuries. Had a much better season in 2023. In fact, early process Ewers was talked about as a 1st or 2nd rounder. That probably wasn't accurate, but he was highly regarded. Lots of injuries, though.

First he was only rated as a first by a few guys and that was more a protection before this season. Those just turned out to overrate him, by mid season he had dropped down to a mid round guy, he basically didn't make in improvements his last year.Then some injuries as well hence he fell to the 7th.

But to tell the whole story he's 1 of the biggest high school recruits in history- he has talent- that's part of the story

He's a 21/22 year old who threw almost 3500 yards and 31 TDs who was at one time projected as a top 5 pick. Clearly raw as hell but as a 7th round pick it's what you want as a developmental QB.

The next time you make a good point though will be the first so keep on trying amigo
