Quotes from Samson Satele today..

I don't get this thread at all.

Who else is going to fill in at center, is there anyone else on our roster that's better?

I already put up the list of every free agent center there was on another thread, and there's slim pickins. We hire Satale and immediately some say he's just backup or whatever. No, he's starting. Abramson put up an article today about starters in every position. Here's the part about linemen:

Offensive linemen:

LT Branden Albert, LG Daryn Colledge, C Samson Satele, RG Shelley Smith, RT Ja’Wuan James, OT/G Billy Turner, OG Dallas Thomas, OG/T Nate Garner, OG/C Sam Brenner

Comment: The Dolphins only have so many spots to go around and much like our 2.0 projection, Jason Fox doesn’t make the final cut. The rest of the offensive line should be a shoo-in. The biggest question at this point is who will start at the guard spots. Expect Colledge and Smith to separate themselves from Turner and Thomas.

If you don't want Satele to play, then tell me what player you want instead.

:idk:

And evidently the coaches/team know more than you in that they saw certain personnel weren't ready and they needed a stop-gap. Is that beyond your 4 year old mentality to comprehend?

I would respond in kind. But I can't. As I've been told not to get in the mud with pigs.

My simple point about Satele is, he is not a upgrade. If this FO and CS have to bring someone in because of clean snaps, its an indictment on them. To those posters who a month ago who said Pouncey was average and easily replaceable, have that argument shot to ****. The argument that Larsen was the eventual starter, shot to ****.

Satele has been underwhelming in OAK and Indy, to expect differently in Miami is a pipe dream. Some of you will carry this journeyman's water. While others will trash it, for good reason.

Cook.

I agree with him Miami is more talented on offense than Indy at most positions.. Their qb is special which accounts for their playoff appearances

Not in this case. The Colts protection was not good, and were at one point starting two Dolphin rejects in Satele and Donald Thomas. Their receivers were TY Hilton and scrubs. Da'Rick Rogers, who was cut by the Bills, and couldn't even get signed by us after a workout, was one of Luck' top receivers last year. Trent Richardson was worse than Lamar Miller.

Andrew Luck was doing more with less than I've ever seen a young QB do. He had a remarkable year given the circumstances. Numbers don't do him justice.

Somebody get this man a beer! He knows what he is talking about

Once again, veteran center Kyle Cook showed zero improvement over the course of the season. The Bengals struggled to run up the middle against larger nose tackles, and quarterback Andy Dalton was constantly pressured due to Cook's missed blocking assignments.According to Pro Football Focus, Cook was given a negative-4.8 grade for the season, which ranks him 24th out of 35 eligible centers. Cook was one of the few centers who received negative grades in each of the run-blocking, screen-blocking and pass-blocking categories. He is currently signed through 2016 and is set to make a total of $3.34 million next season, according to Spotrac.com. Due to his performance in recent years, that may be too high of a salary for a below-average offensive lineman.

Satele was ranked 31st by PFF overall, but 18th in pass blocking.

Cook and Staele are both are injury-prone, both suck at run blocking, and both have bad PFF grades. What's the difference..but ok if you want Cook then bring in Cook. He's been sitting at the bottom of the barrel for months and nobody's picked him up.
