Miami Dolphins tight end Randy McMichael was arrested early Saturday morning in Columbia County after witnesses told police that he had given his wife a bloody nose. Mr. McMichael, a former University of Georgia player, just completed his third season with the Dolphins.

Just after midnight , police were called to the Waffle House at 4077 Jimmie Dyess Parkway in Grovetown concerning a fight at the restaurant. According to a Columbia County Sheriff's Office incident report, police found Mr. McMichael's wife, Cawanna, with several drops of blood on the front of her shirt.

Mrs. McMichael, 22, told police she had accidental contact with Mr. McMichael as he was throwing some of her belongings out of their 1984 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. However, four witnesses told police they saw Mr. McMichael throw his wife from the car. One witness told police he saw the athlete throw his wife away from the vehicle several times, according to the report.

A witness told police that Mrs. McMichael's nose began bleeding after Mr. McMichael hit her in the face with what might have been a piece of cardboard, the report stated.

Mr. McMichael, who admitted to having had two glasses of wine and several beers before the argument, refused to take a field Breathalyzer test, the report stated. Mr. McMichael is 6-foot-4 and weighs 245 pounds, according to the report. His wife was treated at the scene.

What a freakin putz. I was just sticking up for him yesterdat too, how ironic. Cut his ***, let another team deal with the crucial DROPS he always seems to manage.

I'm still reeling from the 84 caddy.
I mean that year had a spare tire as part of the trunk lid.

everyone keeps talking about how he was drunk in both cases... but did anyone even ask if she was drunk too. I am not justifying his actions i am simply asking because we are so quick to blame the drunk. He went out WITH his wife and im sure he was not the only one drinking.
For all the people who still talk about how he is the beater and such and such...lemme give you a little story.

One night my mom and I were ouside walking some of her friends home making sure they were okay and all. She was intoxicated and I was not. messing around like we often do, she kind of came running after me and i moved doing a bull guy thing. i put my hand lightly on her back as i moved as she fell onto the concrete breaking her arm. i am 6'2 240. she is 5'5 130. does my size and the situation make me a mommy beater. Of course not it was an accident that she fell breaking her arm. the next morning we talking and she had understood that it was her own fault and everything is okay. i still have a great relationship with my mom and we are all wiser not to joke around when liqour is involved. however when we are both drunk we still do mess around sometimes.

i told that story to explain that i am not a violent person and without knowing she had tripped you would have assumed im some violent person who attacked his mom. missing information is imperative sometimes so dont jump so quick to conclusions about what happened if we dont have the full police report. we only know what little that was posted earlier.

I think we should all just wait until the facts come out. I'm not defending his actions, it's just that none of us know what those actions were at this point.

"However, four witnesses told police they saw Mr. McMichael throw his wife from the car. One witness told police he saw the athlete throw his wife away from the vehicle several times, according to the report. "

also, what is wrong with the situation if he has to remove her from the car several times. i mean geeze if i was her, the first time i was "thrown" i wouldnt have gotten back in...again, im not saying he was right for "throwing" her its just awkward that he had to do it several times. she apparently isnt the brightest chick.

What did she do if he felt the need to throw her from the car. Again, I'm not condoning whatever happened, just suggesting there may be a whole lot more to this story than what we know.

I agree with you entirely the need to throw her out means something was up. but like that tazor story where the lady was asked countless time to leave the car or she would be tazored, she was tazored because she refused.
however refusing to do something for your husband is totally different than refusing to do something to an officer. i do agree with you though that something was def. up between the two of them and ive said that all along im just not blaming it ALL on randy. as you said there may be a lot more and probably is then what the public currently knows which is why i cant stop preaching enough that people should not be so quick to jump the gun with hands in the air saying he should be cut and waived and traded...etc

Even if something was up, he probably should have just gotten out of the car himself. It seems these two have a hard time dealing with their anger in a mature way. I think some counseling would be in order.

I agree that it is different from the tazer incident in that you're legally obligated to do what a police officer says (within reason of course).

I'll definately wait to pass judgement, but it sure doesn't look good on the surface :shakeno:

Late Monday afternoon, Dolphins head coach Nick Saban issued a statement saying, "We certainly don't condone the conduct which has been alleged, and we recognize the seriousness of the charges; however, we will not make a specific comment about this matter until we gather more information."

from the home page... Nick Saban is waiting himself to get all the information and he has more than we (the public) do.

We really do need to hear both sides of the story before coming into a final judgement on him.

Like the last time he is just going to convince his wife to lie on his behalf, the charges will be dropped, everyone will say see I told you so, and then 6 months from now he will hit her again.

FIRST: During both cases he was drinking, I suggest alcohol counseling for that. That will stop some problems.

SECOND: She was found with a few drops of blood on her shirt so obviously he didn't open hand punched ,DOESN'T MEAN IT WAS RIGHT, But it means that something else was going on that we don't know about completly.
