im sorry but i really think your crazy. if the woman is indeed the agressor,is bi-polar, and if she is on PCP then there is ABSOLUTELY the right to defend yourself. there are always exceptions so dont make it so clean cut when its not always that way. your example also has no bearing on what has happened because if the woman was all of those...then he had to complete right to DEFEND himself. Im not sure where you come from but a man should not just sit there and take a beating because he is the man if she is the agressor. I think you are way out of line on that post and it has no effect on this case.
i completely agree with you dude!100%

How about leaving the scene without retaliating against your wife.

im not positive and ill have to double check the article, but why would he be getting into his car and throwing her stuff out if not to leave the scene. this is gonna be speculation since i havent reread the article but if he was trying to leave and she kept comming back and he removed her several times wasnt he trying. again that was speculation so dont take that to heart but it does make sense although it may not be the truth.

edit: more speculation:D if he accidentally hit her with the cardboard and had flead the scene, wouldnt that have made him look completely guilty?

Listen, what do you want me to say. If you are trying to get me to say you are a good husband, you are a good husband. Your personal situation has NO bearing on this. No matter what, no matter if she was the aggressor, if she has bi-polar, if she was on PCP or whatever other excuse you want to make, Randy should NOT have gotten physical period. There is NO excuse for that.

Well until you put the shoes on, you will never understand what will get into you when you think your survival is on the line. Good luck to you when/if it actually happens.

If you're willing to die and give it all up for your children and not know what will happen to them, when you are the sole provider for your kids, then that is on your shoulders. I for one chose to overcome and provide for my kids and support my wife in anyway I can.

Good luck to you and yours.

I don't think that you are seeing the middle ground. How about leaving with the kids rather than getting physical with your wife. That is my only point.

I can't imagine many on this site have a personal situation that has more bearing on this situation than Blit's. The guy has explained several times what happened and that there isn't always an easy way out. It's too easy for any of us to sit at our computer and judge without knowing exactly what happened.

isnt what he did better? he now has children with 2 parents who get along fine now. i think he made the right choice given the tough circumstances and has come out on top of it all. Personally i give him a ton of respect because it would be too easy to flea forcing your kids to be without a mother...i cant even imagine what i would have done...

I'm still reeling from the 84 caddy.
I mean that year had a spare tire as part of the trunk lid.

yeah, I just did a Kelly Blue Book lookup for the Caddy Coupe DeVille. They didnt go all the way back to 1984 so I had to use an '85.
Fully decked out with every option, 125K miles, excellent cond.....private party value was $1235.

Randy....if you are gonna knock your wife around, at least buy her a new car

I don't think he hit his wife, if he did, I don't think he did the right thing with that decision.

This discussion has to do with Randy hitting his wife. The fact that the other forum member had his personal issues with his wife really has no bearing on the fact that I think Randy is dead wrong hitting his wife, not matter what the circumstances with her.

I guess you missed my point about dealing with an irrational individual. Perhaps you should read further back. It wasn't untill I had established a relationship with the local law enforcement that I could play that card.

your previous statement dealt with blits if im not wrong. maybe you changed subjects really quick but you quoted me talking about blits so i assumed the quote was there to maintain the subject. it does have bearing since he is the only one with true experience of what happens behind the scenes. his case shows that woman can be violent too...im still  on your point on both cases...
