Rapoport on NFL AM: Philbin appears to be safe but some other changes maybe made

Tell me WHAT Joe brings to the table!?!?!

Keeping him around is delaying the inevitable! No more wasted seasons!!!

No question: if we bring in a new GM, we can not handcuff him to Philbin. We need to allow the new GM to come in and do his job and if that means a total overhaul of the coaching staff, so be it.

Why do people keep saying the defense collapsed? The O again scored less than 20 points per game. Only 7 points in the last two games. We still cannot score. If we score 21 points during the last two games, we win. This team still cannot score 3 touchdowns per game.

Because our defense BLOWS...the offense WAS bad,but at least, they had some excuses....The D?They just blow.

If you want an example of a coach, you need look no further than the game yesterday. Rex is not afraid to get in his players asses if need be and assert himself on the defensive side of the ball, where he is in fact very good at scheming for. On the Dolphins sideline, we have Joe just walking around constantly looking at the scoreboard, never getting anyone fired up. I don't know about you guys, but I would take Rex as HC in a minute if he were available.

I say that because the defense are the ones who let the offense score and chew up tons of time off the clock in the Buffalo and New York games. When we needed a stop they couldn't do it. Again the offense is not off the hook by any means but the defense shares alot of the blame.

As soon as we went three and out after that drop by Matthews the defense did what? let them go all the way down the field and score. Without that we are down 7 going into halftime instead of 14 and having to give them the ball. You put more pressure on the offense to score when you let them score right before the half, and have to hope that they can pull it out when they cannot run the ball to provide some balance.

So I will say it again we lost these two games because the parts did not play up to their potential and that falls on everyone Coaches, Defense, Offense and Special Teams. People need to just step back and realize that instead of trying to pin it all on Tannehill when it was a collective **** up.

What does he bring to the table? He makes sure there isn't anything on the floor in the locker room and also ensures the safety of the players by making sure their shoes are properly tied.

Team played with no passion these past 2 games with playoffs on the line and against inferior teams to boot that falls directly on the head coach. Free agent upgrades at linebacking were duds which is a reflection on the GM. The offensive line issue is more on the offensive line coach than the players IMO. Our veteran offensive coordinator did not make enough half time adjustments in many games which is indicative of his short fallings. Take in consideration he could not win at Texas A&M with our current QB also speaks volumes. Our defensive backfield improved outside of Jones this year greatly and I have a difficult time believing that our defensive line cannot be top tier give the correct scheme. Bascially under Philbin we have become a team that cannot run nor able to stop the run which is the exact opposite of what we were under Tony S. I will point out that the head coach at San Diege who I believe might be in the playoffs this year was Irelands choice over Philin who was Rosses choice according to sourses. TO win you need a balance offensive attack which we do not have and be able to stop the run in December. Defense needs a top tier middle linebacker who can stop the run and we need a brusiing running back also. Just imagine the defensive line without Randy and Paul and how much worse we would get run over. Pay both those guys along with Grimes, Clay 2nr round tender on Carrol and fill those holes for next year and we can have ourselves a team. DO NOT remake the team Ross which is why I believe Ireland wanted MCCoy or whateve his name is that went to San Diego. Get a coach who has some passion, who is committed to the run and the pass and will keep Coyle etc.

Good luck getting a worthy GM who can't select his own HC.

That's the problem with Ross. Always doing things half assed.

I can't stand it. You just know he'll keep Philbin and hire Carl Peterson or some bull****. I ****ing hate Ross.

I want them all gone. I hate Philbin's robotic persona. But with that said, if I HAD to pick one to stay, I obviously wouldn't pick the other two.

You are funny! You want Ireland gone but then don't want Peterson who you KNOW is going to be in the discussion? you reap what you sow deal with it.

Yeah I know, so crazy of me to want to fire a ****ty GM and not replace him with another ****ty GM.

The problem is people want to criticize Ross calling him incompetent but then when he does something incompetent you act surprised. Don;t fire someone without someone better
