Ravens beating Detroit did not hurt us at all.

The Ravens beating the Lions took away margin of error. If the Ravens had lost, they'd be 7-7 with tough games against NE & Cincy coming up. Very possible that they could have finished 7-9 or 8-8, which would have then given Miami an opportunity to make the playoffs at 9-7. That looks very unlikely now.

We still have the exact same possibility of making it in at 9-7 as we had if the Ravens had lost tonight. Thats what people seem to be failing to understand.

We still needed the Ravens to lose one of the other games they had lost tonight in order to get in at 9-7.

just the possibility of having a chance at division week 17 would be awesome.

any chance, albeit slim, that the pats miss playoffs completely?

Pats lose out, we win out, ravens win out, bengals win one game and pats don't make it?

But, you do realize how it didnt effect us at all. Most do not seem to. Even if the Ravens had lost this game, we would still need them to lose another game to an AFC opponent in the event we lose one of our remaining 2 games. And if we win the last 2, it simply dosent matter what they do. This win did not effect us. I dont get why everyone is obsessing about it.

And while it is unlikely the Pats lose at home to the Bills in week 17, why not root for the Ravens next week if we have already won our game? It certainly does not hurt us if the Ravens win in the event we have already beaten Buffalo at 1pm. All it would do is keep a slim possibility alive for us to win the division and HOST a playoff game instead of being the 6 seed. Huge advantage. Hell, we still may have a shot at the 2 seed going into 4pm on Sunday if we beat the Bills.

No question, if we beat the Bills on Sunday, we then pull really hard for the Ravens to knock off the Pats. The Pats are so banged up, you just never know...maybe Buffalo jumps up and bites them.

I think if the Ravens lost tonight it was possible for them to go 7-9 or 8-8. It did effect Miami because if they did lose tonight and Miami won next week and the Ravens lost again they would have the #6 seed clinched before Week 17.

I get what your saying and I agree with a lot of it, but to say "it does not matter" that Baltimore won in terms of the Fins is not totally true.

Because the thinking was the Ravens drop one more and then that gives us a little cushion if we don't go up and beat the Bills.

Here's how the Ravens team hurts us. If the Ravens and Dolphins win out we might face them in a #3 vs #6 matchup. That's the one team I wouldn't want to face - they just have too much karma. I'd prefer to face the Colts or Bengals. The Colts play @KC so I see them losing and also finishing 10-6. Not sure who owns the tiebreaker between the Colts and Ravens if both finish 10-6. But I'm probably looking too far ahead at this point...

Another good thing here is Flacco took a shot on his knee. While he may be able to play, I am sure he will get an MRI.

Btw, if anyone is wondering......

Root for the Bengals to lose next week and of course the Phins to win.

This would set up a HUGE 4pm where we can root for Baltimore and San Diego.

If the Phins win, Baltimore wins, and Cinci loses, the Phins will enter week 17 with an opportunity(albeit very slim) to win the 2 seed and a first round bye. Id run through the mall wearing nothing but a Santa hat.

Bring them on. Who goes to the playoffs afraid of their opponent?

As long as the Dolphins beat two teams that they should beat they will be in the Playoffs. If they lose to either the Bills or Jets they really don't deserve to be in.

Miami has to take care of business in Buffalo. The Bills will be ready to go folks. This is going to be a brutally tough game.

We still needed the Ravens to lose one of the other games they had left in order to get in at 9-7.

Yeah but the chances would be more favorable for fins to clinch next week. Any help fins could get to clich would have been great. I mean i know it';s not good to get carried away as all this help doesn;t mean much if fins dont do their job and win next week, which obv cant be taken for granted. Just saying that fins would need less things to work in favor for fins to clinch. next weekend. Fins would just need Ravens to lose Or Bengals. So, fins wouldnt need to depend on ravens losing since ravens seem to squeek crazy wins out as long as bengals lose next weekn and fins win. Fins wouldnt be depended on the ravens to lose, which would be nice and either or team. Now fins need BOTH bengals and ravens to lose if fins win next week.

Not if San Diego also finished 9-7 along with the Dolphins and Ravens. In the case of a 3 team tie, the Dolphins get the wildcard.

I disagree. The Bills are good team and have matchup positives vs. Miami. The Jets have beaten the Pats and Saints and will play balls out the last game of the year with nothing to lose.
