Also Thursday, the Dolphins re-signed offensive lineman Ray Feinga, whom they had cut on the first day of training camp nearly two weeks ago. Feinga, who suffered a concussion in a one-car accident on the eve of training camp, is primarily a guard who provides depth with the injury setback to Nate Garner (foot).
Cornerback Kevin Hobbs, who started two games for the Lions last season, was signed as well. Hobbs, a fourth-year pro from Auburn, was wearing No. 41 and split some repetitions with undrafted rookie Ross Weaver on the third-team defense.
Feinga, who spent the final three weeks last season on the Dolphins' practice squad, also took some second-team snaps at right tackle in Thursday's practice. Andrew Gardner, a 2009 sixth-round pick, moved up to the first team when starter Vernon Carey sat out to ride the stationary bike.
Carey's injury is unknown but he was pedaling without using his right leg.
