How many contracts come off the books in a couple of years?

The new TV contract and cap kicks.............

Redundant? To the contrary, Jeff Ireland has never been held accountable for anything yet. He damn sure isn't going to hold himself accountable.

It makes no sense that some of you want this imbecile shielded from criticism when he's done absolutely nothing for you to deserve it except build you a losing football team.

All of you that insist he had nothing to do with anything are the first one's groveling at his feet for pulling off another 'genius' move everytime Dan Carpenter makes a field goal.

But all that sh*t is fixing to stop. People are tired of the buck being passed.... he's being held accountable now just like Sparano, Parcells, Cam Cameron, Randy Mueller, Nick Saban, Rick Speilman, Wannstedt, Jimmy Johnson, Wayne Huizenga, and even Shula was towards the end.

Ireland will face the music just like they did. He wants all of the credit but none of the blame... it doesn't look as if the inner circles of the league, former players, the fanbase, or former Dolphin legends from the past are going to allow that to happen anymore.
love it when u post ,good job man.

This is a transition season as we put a new system in place with Philbin. I'd rather just purge this dead money this year and come back with more cap space next year to resign our guys (Long, Wake, Davis especially). We have to figure a franchise tag (possibly for Wake) so it was a good decision to not spend that much this year when it was clear we couldn't get the big prize (Manning).

The next 2 drafts are the key for the future of this franchise. We have to hit our first 4 picks this year and next hopefully (1,2,3, 3 (CHI)) and possibly trade down this year to add more early picks to prevent some FA departures next year...

About 2 weeks ago we had a thread around here about an Albert Breer article where Ross said he felt like the Dolphins were a QB away from the superbowl.

Somebody probably needs to make up their mind...

yeah...rebuild mode...you weren't in rebuild mode when you were sitting around waiting on peyton manning...this sounds like more typical after the fact garbage...why are we eating cap on some of those olineman anyways...some of those oline signings have been woeful...no reason some of those guys should be impacting our 2012 cap at all...

This article forgot the part about how Ireland consistently lies to his own players (he told Bell at the combine that they would keep him without restructuring his deal) and other transgressions that make it a nightmare destination for free agents. Even Alex Smith admitted he only made the trip for a free beach vacation.

Good question. Who will we franchise next year? Long, Wake or Vontae Davis?. Are all 3 in the final year of their contracts? Seems we better extend some of them before the season starts or ends.

and you guys are right...that capologist is garbage also...there's no way mcdaniel should be a $4 mil cap hit...just like there's no way incog should be a over $3 mil hit

rediculous...we compete with ourselves with some of these dang contracts...

i'll answer that...they'll get long done on an extension before next years free agency wake will be tagged and vontae will hit free agency...unless we overpay him prior cause we have no choice

i don't know how these guys plan on keeping reggie bush after this year unless he takes a major cut and starts thinking he's not a 20 carry per game back

sean smith is history...

$30 million for this crappy offensive line ??

:sidelol:

lol in other words, the dolphins are TOTALLY screwed

Kind of makes me feel good we are going to lose 13 mill in dead money next year to free up cap for our own players to get resigned

Don't worry, there will be plenty of internal screwups until then, as well as career ending injuries or chronic injuries this team will no longer want to deal with,, and players not performing close to their capability next season to where the dolphins will have $15M in dead money next year, again.

it's inevitable with this band of misfits.

and you know full well that Philbin and this coaching staff will release players in training camp that don't fit into their "system" , their "model" ,or, "plans". That , along with everything else (inevitable screw ups), will easily propel the dolphins into the $20M area of dead money next off-season.. just watch

its bad when you have these kind of cap issues and you have jack squat money wise in the qb position...
