I cant recall any coaches that made a huge impact in their first year coaching. Even the great coaches stuggled in their first year coaching. Jimmy Johnson was 1- 15 his first year, and Belick was fired from his first head coaching job (cleveland). I think an 8 win season would be a huge success. A winning season isn't too much to hope for. It's just too much ask for. Be patient we could be in for another long season.

There have been a number of first year coaches that made a huge impact. Parcells went 10-6 his first year in Dallas. Jim Mora Jr. took the Falcons from 5-11 to 11-5 in one year.

Still though, an 8-8 season would be considered a good year for us.

That is what I am hoping for either that or a 9 win season.

I am a huge fan so I love to think that we will be in the playoffs. we play in the toughest division every year. I really believe the dolphins will have a winning record. the bills have alot to prove with their new qb and the pats have lost some vital defensive players and wr. the jets who knows they are unpredictable. we came so close to winning several more games last year and could easily have gone 7-9. the entire offense stunk last season. This year is going to be drastically different. we have great coaches now and have improved the roster drastically. the offense still has a long way to go and alot to prove. we have been so predictable the last few years with terrible coaching. everything is going to change now on both sides of the ball. no more predictability. this is going to be the new era in miami. if we can stabilize the qb position in a year or two we may be the patriots of the last few years. but we must hurry because our "D" is getting aged. If we can get some quality play from hopefully feeley this season and the rbs andwrs we have i believe a 9-7 year is not out of the question maybe even 10-6. i believe our qb situation is better now than it has been in the last three or 4 years and we went 11-5. ricky, ronnie, boston, booker, chambers, mcmichael that is lots of talent and playmakers.

I think in terms of being able to coach at this level, Saban will be fine. Nublar used the good example of Jim Mora who really came on strong. I don't think that'd be out of the question for us.

Just to be better than we were last year is all that is to be expected.Going 8-8 to me would be awesome.Anything better then that would be too much to ask for IMO,but you never really know how fast(in today's NFL) a new group of coaches and players can come together and start gellin'. Hoping for the best can't wait for preseason to start let alone the regular season.GO PHINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You cant really include Parcels he isn't exactly a rookie coach, and Mora didn't inherit a 4-12 football team. However, has done a great job. I think we all know the sucess of Atlanta is greatly predicated on the health of Mr Vick.

Jon Gruden didn't do too bad either.
8-8 would be a disappointment. This team had too many internal problems last year and were not ready to start the year. Talent wise this years team has as much talent as the Dolphin teams of 2-4 yrs ago which won anywhere from 9 to 11 games.
With a decent and consistent coaching staff last season, I think they could have won 2-4 more games last year. That would have given them a 6, 7 or 8 win season.

I'm a big fan, don't get me wrong. I want to see the fins have a winning season. I just don't see anything more than about 5 wins this year at most.

I think you guys can win 10 games and make the playoffs as a wild card. If Saban is the real deal and he gets maximum effort out of the roster AND you get solid play from the QB position, you'll surprise a lot of people.

As for the Patriots.....talentwise this will be our best team. The question is whether we can adequately replace what we lost in Weis and Crennel.

It should be a fun year.

No one could recall a perfect season before 1972. No one thought a Rookie QB could win 15 games in a row before Big Ben. There are no realistic expectations in the nfl because anything can happen.

I think Saban will be just fine, his very competitive and his got the best coaches around him
