Receiver Mike Wallace: We’re not as bad as you think

This organization has lacked real success for so long that the buzz always make it seem like we are perennial bottom feeders. In truth, Wallace is right, we're not usually bottom feeders, we're the best in the league at being just good enough to be not quite good enough. Instead of terrible, we're mediocre.

When a player says we will "not be as bad as everyone thinks" I agree, it sounds like "Golly gee, at least we won't be as terrible as we look right now." And when that statement comes from the same guy who proclaimed he left 15 to 20 TD's on the field last year, I worry. This is not the kind of guy who usually makes statements that are this modest. Makes me think he is worried when he looks around the practice field.
Hopefully it was more of a statement that they can use their standing as a way to sneak up on teams if they aren't ready, or of the work ethic and scrappy team he sees.
