recievers are fine

excellent point......but I still think that there's a larger gap in talent between their QB and ours than between their O-Line and ours.

Well it all starts in the trenches, or at least so they say. The way their line was able to make running lanes for no matter who the rb was is a sign they had a good oline. That and our line couldnt block long enough for anyone to run streaks down the field...lol... and well we didnt show any improvement till the last 3-4 games of the year? I think this is AJ's year to prove himself, just like Boller's in Baltimore.(I posted this in another thread as well) Alot of the excuses are being fixed(coaching staff bickering on offense, emphasis on improveing the oline, drafted Rb, new offensive schemes that arent so conservative). For me the Jurys out on Feeley, i dont think he'll ever be great but he could still be an effective qb. Hopefully he turns out.

Why not give Gilmore a shot? I think if he is given more time, and more reps with the quarterback, he will improve!

I like Gilmore, and really hope he succeeds, but so far all he has shown is that he has potential, but is injury prone, and at times inconsistent. We need to bring in another vet that will bring some competition to the position.

My personal preferrence is Boston.

If not, I agree. Gilmore would be my choice on the #3 slot. Then Tolver. Oh wait, Wanny quickly got rid of him didn't he? El stupido!

Wanny drafted him too so who cares. Wanny wasn't wrong on everything he did. Tolver sucked and was WAY overrated by Finheaven.

Remember the Patriots?

yeah, and forgot to say d. thompson fate.... :buttkick:

see ya derrius, thanks for all effort
I know Derrius has pretty much been unproductive, but he has made some clutch catches since being here. I just don't think he has been used correctly!I know he made the catch of the season last year against the PATSIES!! It was freaking great!! I think he has some major upside as the third receiver!

We need some speed & quickness, which is why I wouldn't mind adding Az Hakim. Outside of Chambers, we don't have a single receiver capable of hitting the home run, and that doesn't work for Linehan's type of offense. I'd be willing to bet money that next year we'll be on the market looking for a receiver(although we may add a 1-year fix this year).....

How is it possible for two fans to agree so F***ing much??? :shakeno:

Yup, you sure are in the mix.

It just seems that every single time there's a guy out there that X and I want to sign, it never happens... I'm hoping that changes this time.

But, Moss got hurt, and the Vikings had a quality guy like Burleson to step in. If Chambers was to get hurt, we have no one to step in that is NFL-starter quality. Please, no one say Derrius Thompson, because the guy has no speed, and shows no ability to get separation from defenders. Take a look at the Vikings right now. At WR, they have Burleson, Robinson, Travis Taylor, Kelly Campbell, and Troy Williamson. They understand that you need quality depth at the position. We don't, and haven't since the early 1990s.

BTW - What happens if chambers or booker goes down with an injury (knock on wood). WR corp doesn't look so good then does it??

We have no depth behind two solid starters.[/QUOTE]

Been saying this forever.........totally agree

I am telling you guys, we got a jem free agent in Josh Davis. He will continue to impress and could be a great #3 given time.

Same thing everyone said about Tolver last year.........if a team rests their hope for their top back-up (which a #3 WR is even more than that) on a first-year undrafted free agent, they are doomed 95% of the time.

Not saying that it's impossible for Davis to work out........but anyone who depends on him being a quality #3 WR is setting themself up for a likely disappointment.

Ikeme Hillard is overated, Boston is a overmuscle bound injury waiting to happen, and current fins recievers are fine. It's all about how fast everyone catches on to Linihans new system. When moss was hurt last year the Vikings were still a above average offense and I would pick Chambers over Burlson, Booker over M.Robinson, and McMicheal over Wiggins. With our available cap space I would rather see us wait and pickup a salary cap casualty o-lineman. OUR Recievers are good enough.

Our recievers are adequate, but good enough is a little overstating..that being said, there are areas I'd rather see us pick up...like safety, like signing McMike to a LT contract, perhaps an OL if HH doesn't see what he expects with the current personnel, etc...

i was hoping we could draft Vincent Jackson but he went to the Chargers i believe. We should definitely try to get HAKIM on the cheap, but if we can't i'll take my chances with our roster guys. Ike Hilliard Blows.
