Reggie Bush agrees Ryan Tannehill will be third quarterback

i wonder how many people here would say that luck should sit behind garrard and moore if he was here...the veteran that gives us the best chance to win stuff...

I believe that this staff would have Luck sit behind Garrard or Moore to start the season. But at mid season, the pressure to start him would be too great.

Tannehill has what 20 starts in college? I can understand why Philbin wants to make sure he is prepared and the team is clicking before putting him in there.

Luck and RT are comparing apples and cranberries. Luck is the most complete QB to come out in years, RT played WR before finally starting at QB and then lead his team to a mediocre season.

You would put the rookie in as head coach hoops? I wouldn't.

1. I think Tanny was an awful pick and will never be a franchise QB.....sorry everyone
2. I still think Matt Moore will beat out Garrard even if it doesn't look that way at the moment
3. Having our top 10 pick starting the season at third string is flat out horrid..........depressing

Totally agree

Well, Andrew Luck is.....Andrew Luck ( Not to ever be confused with Ryan Tannehill )

And when you look at it, the Colts front office decided to start Luck. If for no other reason, they made sure that there were no other decent QBs to complete with. They did trade for Drew Stanton after the Jets got Tebow but they were ready to go into the season with less. Their other QB is a rookie.

If we had the Colts back up QBs I'd want Tannehill to start. But we have the "problem" of Moore playing well enough last season and the fact that we signed a good FA QB in Garrard.

If Brandon Weeden was 7 years younger he would of been the best QB in this draft.

ABSOFREAKINLUTELY...and garrard wouldn't even be here right now...neither would ocho...the rest of the league had no interest in either of these guys and i wouldn't either

Bingoooooo.
If Tannehill is the real deal he'll be better as a rookie than someone as mediocre as Moore and as washed up as Garrard.

you guys think rg3 is gonna sit behind average veteran in washington this year??? nope...how is rg3 more ready than ryan tannehill??? i don't see it...cam newton started last year from jump...andy dalton for all you guys that love him started from jump...

why not at least treat him like the vikes did christian ponder last year...don't auto put the kid 3rd on the damn depth chart without giving him a fair look see...

luck and rgIII were 4 year starters. Tannehill was not. Tannehill has all the physical tools. He needs time to adjust to the mental aspect of the game....speed, timing, reads etc. We aren't winning anything this year with or without him.

I wanna know what all you "experts" would have done with that 8 pick. I happen to think the tannehill pick was one of a couple routes I myself would have gone. It's hard for me to say since the actual gm and coaches have more information than I do. I prob would have drafted kueckley amd tried to trade dansby to get back into the first round. maybe package those extra 3rds and get another impact player or even weeden. It's awesome how all the know nothings are gonna say tannehill is a bust or a horrible pick and the dude hasnt been given any kind of opportunitty.

and again i'm sure steelers fans and coaching staff thought the same thing when roethlisberger went to camp...now is berger the exception sure he is but it does happen...and i don't know how much you expect the game to slow down for the kid getting no reps behind stop gaps like garrard and matt moore

as for your last question what would i have done at #8...taken tannehill on the upside and tools given our situation...said as much after he was drafted...but i wouldn't have just pegged him for 3rd string without giving him a fair shake in camp...time to see what he's got

I honestly can't see Tannehill as 3rd string. They know he needs reps...i personally think the loser of Moore/Garrard won't be here come week 1.

Read it and weep. I get so frustrated with some people that say "just throw Tannehill to the wolves!" like it's going to benefit him to get his ass kicked. Once Tannehill is developed, I will feel more than comfortable with him as our starting quarterback. Right now, it's just not the smart thing to do. It's not like we don't have other quarterbacks that can play right now. Next year is a different story. This year, we need to let Tannehill make his transition from college to pros.

Marino did not start till mid season. What's the rush ? Philbin just came from Green Bay where Rodger's set for how many years ? How'd that work out ?

He'll start when he is ready. If he does not win the starting gig in training camp he is not ready yet.

Exactly. Tannehill won't be riding the bench because of some Philbin philosophy. He'll be riding the bench because he isn't good enough.

I don't have a good feeling about this QB situation at all. It kinda reminds me of Parcells' first year with the 3 way competition between McClown, Beck and Henne. When they got to training camp Parcells realized none of those guys could play. I feel this situation will be similar.

the only problem i have with coming out and saying that whoever loses the starter job b/t garrard and moore will be gone is if garrard wins it which i think the signs are pointing that way can we really depend on him to stay healthy at this stage if tannys not ready to philbin and ireland...i don't think we can...which makes it hard for me to say moore goes...

i don't know if the staff would be comfortable with garrard only...
