Reggie Bush Reviews Running Ineptness

how much running inside did he do in new orleans??? they knew better...
based on what did they know better? up until now just about everyone agrees that his career has been a disappointment...but is it a case where, what he has done so far is all he is capable of doing or is it a case where he was asked to fill a specific role within the context of an offense? Being that he will be the 3 down back in Miami (something he has never been)...we'll see 1st hand whether or not they knew better..but until we see the results of using him differently than NO did, it's just speculation on both sides..

because of all the times he hasn't been hurt running up the middle?

whats up uscalum... so this is what ive found so far.

So this is what i think is fair, instead of continuing our back an forth of "is he or isnt he, was he or wasnt he".. we can do something simple.

Make a prediction.. and stick to it... and we'll revisit at seasons end.

I'll even go first.

I think Reggie plays in 12 or less games this year.
In those games he plays in.. he will average around 60 yards per game of rushing and receiving COMBINED.
I think Reggie will score 6 TD's or less.
And i believe his yards per carry will be less than 3.7.

any other categories we want to touch on?
and just so this is clear and there is no misunderstandings, im not doing this with any sort of malice or bad intentions, your opinion is just as valid as mine, although different... i just think this is a more productive and concrete way of putting "your thoughts vs mine".

Fair enough?

**** the running game. we're going to live or die by the pass. running game pffftt. like running the ball has done jack **** for us since 1996

living and dying by the pass teams.. still run the ball effectively when it counts.

New Orleans.. Green Bay...even New England.. all these "Pass First, Pass Happy teams" still all have a more than healthy running game when they have success.
We can live or die by the pass...but still need to be able to run the rock.

you call it speculation...i call it his career to date...we'll see where it ends up...keep running bush inside repeatedly and pray he plays in 12 games this year...he's already an injury concern as his career has shown and now you want to add even more inside contact

bad recipe

This quote concerns me:

"We've been practicing every day. At this stage, we shouldn't be having these mistakes we've been having," Bush stated.

This means the players know they are behind and not where we should be.

I really don't think they'll be our starting combo at tackle and at this rate I don't think carey is there either ... by week 2.

Agree. I have a hard time believing that after Big Jake comes back that they wont sling Murtha over to replace Columbo. Murtha is no star.... but compared to Columbo, its a big step up.
Im also still wondering when O'hara is going to show up... plenty of speculation and interest, and hes more than willing to come in right now.. health is a concern. but not only can he show Pouncey the ropes of being a big time NFL center.. i think he used to play guard and just in case pouncey goes down.. we have an NFL caliber starter to fill in rather then another stop gap like Incognito filling in.

Who would have thunk missing 4 months because of a lockout would be detrimental to the team's performance?

We'll see if this is to your liking..

- If Bush gets hurt it will be a freak play like he catches a pass in the flat and makes a cut and his achilles pops or something...he won't get hurt from not being able to run through the A gap.
- Bush will average 9 yards per touch for the entire season. Basically, if he gets the ball 200 times this season, I'm predicting 1800 yards.
- Bush will average one TD a game, and if he stays healthy will lead your team in TDs
- If he plays in 14 games or more he will be in the Pro Bowl.
- Yards per carry will be 4.5 or greater (minimum of 100 attempts)

Maybe when we use the pass to set up the run like the teams you mentioned, our rushing attack will get better

Just wanted to chime in as a reggie fan and saints fan....Bush will get 275 carries, 1500 yards, 5.5 yoc, and another 60 receptions for 500 yds.

One smal fact, reggie bush was never hurt in the NFL running the football, his 2 major injuries came on freak plays during punt returns. His minor injuries were a result of his major injuries.

i don't understand why daniel thomas isn't the primary between the tackles rb anyways...he's the make one cut and get vertical back in this offense anyways...take advantage of his feet and vision and stop trying to make reggie something he's not

maybe because so far he has been no more successful if not less so than reggie
