Reggie Bush ... Why did we sign him?

they didn't wanna say what they traded so it must be bad news

Throw the Reggie Bush as featured back experiment out the window.

I thought it was a 4th, but that was just a rumor...

The interesting thing is that the Saints won a Super Bowl with Bush in a certain role, yet our genius braintrust thought that was a mistake.

What would've been smart would be to appraise Reggie Bush's incomplete use as the reason a team didn't get over the hump to a Super Bowl, and then expand his role after trading for him.

But no, we in effect choose to call the Saints stupid for using Bush the way they did and winning a Super Bowl in the process.

Real smart.

it's 100% coaching, he is not being used in the slot, on the perimeter, on reverses, nothing! just up the middle!

We're not even attempting to throw any screens or swing passes to him. It's truly puzzling.

They've at least realized that Thomas is the guy. Now, somebody send them a copy of the NO Superbowl Season DVD so they can get some idea on how to use Bush correctly.

The problem wasn't signing him. The problem was the buffoons in the front office thinking he could be an every down back. I said it was completely and utterly ridiculous that he would be used 70% of the time as an every down back and got killed by the homers. In reality, Thomas should be getting 70% and Bush 30%. That's where he's most effective-- as a scatback. Sure, nice weapon & a nice player but he was never going to be the savior that a lot of people predicted.

Thomas has gotten the ball at least 70/30 the last two games, the only two he's been active for. What's the problem here?

I do agree with the people who say that we should be using him as a slot receiver. Once Bush realizes the feature back talk was just coach speak, perhaps he'll be very open to it just to get on the field more.

It's not like what we have been doing on offense (outside of the 20's obviously) has been entirely unproductive, at least two our of 3 games. And inside the 20, two of our TD passes were passes to our RB's.

I don't even know how well our line could execute screens that often, though they may actually be better in this area without Carey.

I am not big on Bush, but I have to agree. There have been very few passes thrown to him, and I don't remember him lining up as a receiver once.

Funny thing is that this team has very good weapons but they are not used the right way. Bess, Marshall, Bush and even Hartline would be GREAT in many other teams. Give those players to a good qb and man they would put up HUGE numbers.
