Apparently, according to the draft order, he only cost us switching 6th rounders with New Orleans...damn, that might be the best deal Miami has EVER made.

Sorry if it has already been posted somewhere. I know the last we were all discussing it, nobody could find what the actual trade was!!

This was a great move by Ireland. He deserves some praise for this one. It helps smooth over some of the other turds.

"Yea!... and there was much rejoice...

He also cost us Ed Reed Jr aka John Amaya

Right, I forgot about Amaya..and while I hated to see him go, aren't you just a little premature in your assesment??? He racked up 15 tackles last season....all on special teams.

Oh, and there is not an H in his name. It is actually Jonathon Amaya....who was and UDFA..which means we gave up an UDFA special teamer and 20? spots in the 6th round for a 1000 yard back, and probably the best back we have had in????? 3 decades?

Damn, if Ireland can turn that deal once a year, we are gonna be DAMN good in no time

Pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

Still waiting for one of the usual suspects to bring up "...but but but, Darren Sproles....." This was definitely one of Ireland's finest hours, including the vision of how best to use Reggie.

Although the SFL crowd would argue he cost us luck and we could have gotten sproles cheaper. I agree was great trade by Ireland. He desreves much praise for his moves in free agency and the draft last year.

A really great trade & at an advantageous salary!!

But I can't help but wonder about the Vision of how to use Reggie ... I suspect it had to do as much with Thomas' Fizzle, as Reggie's Sizzle!! Suspect Vision was Thomas inside & Reggie outside ... Reggie's contract was even written with most of Reggie's money coming from milestones = Dolphins very suspect he could reach them.

But it all worked out great, so just an academic issue ... the major point is Reggie is a shining star who didn't get injured!!

I highly doubt Sproles was ever going to come to Miami. Brees wanted Sproles in New Orleans and campaigned hard for him. I think this was the reason the Saints parted ways with Bush so they could make room for Sproles.

Sparano said from the beginning that Bush was going to be the featured back and many people thought he was crazy. Thomas actually had back to back 100 yard rushing games to start the year while Bush was still trying to figure how to run between the tackles. Unfortunately Thomas' hamstring problems resurfaced and Bush finally found his groove half way into the season.

I think his aquisitions away from the draft have been pretty damn good.

For every Marc Columbo, there is:

Devonne Bess
Cam Wake
Marshall
Reggie Bush
Karlos Dansby.

I think that Clay and Pouncey might really be his best draft picks to date...unless I am forgetting somebody???

Don't buy that.

If we had a QB as capable as Drew Brees you'd see Reggie used a whole lot differently.

What people fail to realize is just how valuable Reggie Bush was in that New Orleans offense. Too many people want to run to their box scores for stat lines to really understand what Reggie brought to the Saints offense.

He's one of the most unique talents the NFL has ever seen at teh RB position.
