Report: Colts will cut Manning before the combine

sorry, but im not thrilled about manning.

he has not been a very good playoff player, although he did win a superbowl and had one other solid postseason performance.

he is def at the end of his career

he is not healthy

he IS and RUNS the offense, so we are kind of betting the bank on him rather than letting philbin/sherman implement their plans

We once again will not invest in a younger kid to be OUR franchise QB

id rather the skins or yets pick him up - they are more known for making bone head moves for old guys, it hasnt worked yet, i doubt it will.

does peyton run the WCO?

i have no doubt in my mind manning will be the same manning if he is 100%. before the injury he was still making all the throws and reads.

One thing to think about, no way does Flynn sign until Manning is cut and resigns with someone else.

Great coaches find ways to fit players into whatever system they see fit to be the most successful. Philbin is already showing signs of this mentality by not committing to a 4-3 or 3-4 defense, but rather a hybrid that will allow flexibility to maximize the talent we already have on our roster.

If you can't find a system to fit Peyton Manning into, or any other great QB or player.... shame on you.

Irsay may be a drunken skunk, but he's smart!!! He paid Manning $26 million dollars to sit out the 2011 season to rehab his injury and subsequent surgeries ... Irsay was skeptical in an interview I saw him give about Manning's injury ... I don't blame the guy for letting go of Manning to avoid another $28 million dollar payout, to a player that may not play again in 2012 ... inspite of the doctor's report saying, 90% of patients make a full recovery!! Letting Manning become another teams financial headache, is the smart play!!! Manning is not guaranteed to fully recover in time, IF EVER!!! I'm with Irsay, he gave Manning a multi million dollar send off be letting him rehab last season .. cut your loses now and start over!!! and having the #1 pick in a draft that can secure a top rated QB is just what the doctor ordered!!! Irsay is sitting pretty!!!

If I am Irsay, I would do the same thing.

Luck is the smartest play and will be the face of that franchise for another 10 years.

Irsay is still a drunken idiot and it would be fitting if Luck refused to play for him.

I wouldn't cut him. I'd keep both of them on the roster and make Luck wait 3 years until Manning retired. It's a stupid move unless Peyton can no longer play. It just doesn't make sense to get rid of him if he's healthy.

That would be an ideal way to go about it, but Manning will have a huge cap number if they keep him.

If they keep Manning, they pretty much lose many others to Free Agency.

It's better for them to move on from Manning and get pieces together around Luck.

Irsay is still a moron.

FA starts in roughly 45 days. Manning won't answer the question how he is throwing indicating he is not ready. The nerve may regenerate but no one knows if or when it will. Odds are Peyton will not be ready when FA starts.

That's the scenario teams are facing. IMO if Manning ever plays again he won't be signed until well after the opening of the 2012 business year meaning if the Dolphins want a franchise QB and Philbin likes Flynn, do the Dolphins sign him or do they wait and hope that Manning recovers? If they let Flynn go they draft a QB For the future and in case Manning doesnt recover, move forward with Moore and the draftee.

Three options on the table. I am betting Ross will let Philbin make the decision on Flynn being a Dolphin. My money says they sign Flynn because his health is not in question nor will he command the money Manning would and the Dolphins can fill needed holes on both sides of the ball. Manning eats up any cap space they have.

He has no feeling in his tricep on his throwing arm. Not good at all, but 95% of the doctors said he would regain it back

Peyton Manning won't be as healthier as required to justify a huge contract in Miami.

I mean nor Ross nor Ireland will sign Manning just for his last name, they want a franchise QB. But a poor man's version of himself wont' be enough.

By the way, Peyton knows how to adjust into any effective offense based on a passing attack.
