Report: Dolphins knew of Davone Bess' problems before trade

Are we talking facts here or are we just speculating again? Do we know what Ireland told Cleveland? Is Cleveland complaining about the trade? Is the personal health information of Bess allowed to be shared if it is not football related?

Or are we just taking this article and making it more than it is?

Ok. Once again, all we can comment on this site is until something is encyclopedia fact. How ****ing boring would this be. We could not discuss who the new GM is. We could not discuss who we should get in FA. We should not discuss the draft. Give me a break. There is something here…not illegal, but unprofessional here. Steve Ross knows it and is looking for a good, decent face of the FO going forward.

While I agree that is it on Cleveland to do better research, it does seem lie it was a trend under Ireland to handle dealing this way….

Just Ireland? I only ask because since Ross is in Real Estate, these things go down like this all the time in Real Estate. All....the ...time. In fact, its a small unwritten rule that agents and closers need to try and hide certain 'little details' that might make a deal fall through. But its all good right? In business its all good. No one gets personal because its all just business right?

So with Ross at the top, I don't think I'd be surprised at stuff like this.

You might say that things like this don't concern us, its the buyers issue to do their research. That being said, remember that buyers have memories too, and they will remember that lemon you sold them and just might make others aware that your 'store' deals in lemons and uses shady business practices. Next time you want to make a deal, that deal might cost you more because the person might think that your hiding something because of your past shady deals.

No....good debate and discussion is part of the fun here. At least I enjoy it.......

So, I'm guessing you don't know any facts here and we are just speculating and you are taking the most negative view possible. That's fine...I'm used to it.....

Have fun.

Seeing as Ireland is gone(the man who made the trade) why would any team be afraid of the team's motives in future trades?

I concur with you overall. But Ireland was CERTAINLY NOT the only one who knew. Not a chance.

The irony in all of this is that Ireland would negotiate tough to exploit for a player he didn't want, but the really big deals like Marshall and the draft evaluations like all of those 2nd round busts, he would sweep under the carpet and hope that Ross wouldn't notice.
Ireland is gone and his successor will have to establish his own credentials as a negotiator, but you have to ask where is the genuine concern for the player. Bipolar disorder can be successfully treated with the right medication and dosage (and it's not the gunja). Let's hope that someone can help Davone. He served our team well for many years.

I am sure he was the only one talking with Michael Lombardi over the trade. Plus Lombardi worked out a contract extension with Bess' agent. Shouldn't the moral police be upset with his agent that he never brought it up when he was working on a new deal?

Doesn't Bess have rights about protecting his mental health issues from being made public even in a trade scenario?

and yet... some want to bring in farmer? doesn't this reflect poorly on him also?

Notice how no one answered your question Bill? Crickets! Same people defending Dolphins blame Lombardi give Farmer a pass!

If Farmer did not have any info, all the the Browns were trading for was a productive slot receiver. Good deal, right?

Sure the ignorance defense works on here all the time! Next defense will be Lombardi had all the power. Sound familiar?

Ahh…I get it. It was Farmer's job to know that Bess lost his marbles. That info is always easy to get over the internet.

Better yet, let's not make out this like the Browns got fleeced. They essentially traded spots in the draft for a good slot receiver.

The point of the story is did the Fins knowingly play dirty pool?

Since I'm a nurse in a psychiatric hospital let clear some things up.

A March-man Act is strictly poly-substance abuse usually ETOH abuse. A Baker ACT is for the mentally ill.

HIPAA restricts information to law enforcement and who the person deems necessary: spouse, parent, etc. HIPAA can also be use to expressly deny people from getting access to your personal health information.

The Dolphins could NOT under penalty of federal law disclose Bess's personal health information. Unless they wanted jail time, yes I do mean jail time not a fine. HIPAA is that severe.
