The NFL Players Association plans to decertify by Thursday before the expiration of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, according to ESPN.
Per the report, language in the current CBA says the union must wait to decertify six months after the CBA has expired. By decertifying before the CBA expires Thursday night, the players will try to get ahead of the owners’ expected plan to lock them out.

Looks like neither side was smart enough to get a deal done if this report is correct.

They will meet on Tuesday with the mediator one more time but it sounds like these millionaires and billionaires have lost all sense of what is going on with this country and the economy. It is a shame that the fans that made this game will suffer because of there all mighty greed.

But the fans will run back to this game and will not care what this greed has done. I am calling to cancel my NFL package once they lockout. It will be college football and baseball for me.

I would do that, but the quality of play in college football sucks too badly.

Hmm...sounds like you go to school at San Jose St. or Memphis or New Mexico or Akron.

College football is AWESOME!

I think they will lose a percentage of fans. How much? Baseball resulted in the turning a blind eye in order to allow players to pump up on steroids to hit the often and long home runs in order to get fans back involved. Not sure what football will do since HGH probably already runs rampant in the NFL.

Agreed. Specifically, the competitive balance sucks. It's difficult to find that many teams of similar strength. I can enjoy a HS game where the talent level isn't extraordinarily high if the teams are well matched. There are great NCAA games every weekend, but you never know if the one you're watching is going to end up 63-7.

Still, I'll watch college ball. Maybe a few NASCAR races on the tube as well. Won't shed a tear for the millionaires and billionaires having a pissing contest, though.

Nope. I mainly watch SEC. All throughout college football, the glaring mistakes by players and coaches, as well as the amateur play takes most of the fun out of the game for me.

Baseball is a fading sport. Very few people I know who used to watch it still do, and the over ratings are way down. They would have been better off allowing steroids than banning it.

The whole country is run on the basis of greed. Just look at our politicians and big business.
